Projectiles collide with other projectiles
« on: January 09, 2017, 10:41:48 AM »
How to make projectiles collide with other projectiles for Players, Enemies and NPCs?
Ex: Player projectile versus other Player projectile or Enemy projectile.

Thanks.

By default OpenBOR specifically makes projectiles miss each other. There are several methods to circumvent this though. Are you looking for some projectiles to overpower others, or will they always negate?

Projectile collision for versus mode like Mugen (Player vs Player).
Where projectile can be reached only by another projectile. (Player, enemy or NPC)

The manual says that CANDAMAGE accepts type SHOT:

Quote
candamage {type1} {type2} ...

~Optional.
~Specifies what types this entity can hit (very similar to hostile, but determines what entity may hit, not what it will intentionally target).
~Available types are enemy, player, npc, obstacle, shot and you can use as many as you need.

...but in TYPE, it says that PSHOT is ignored:
type {type}

Quote
~{type}:
pshot: The type is outdated and does nothing. You can still use it, but it's ignored.

I see a little inconsistency here. First, the type is called SHOT or PSHOT?
Second, is this type really ignored? I don't think it should, because I can see some useful usage (like this situation).

Without this, you could change the projectile type to enemy, but then you would need to care about the player to not be able to hit it with a punch, for example.

Thanks ILU,
Use type: shot was the first thing I tried.
But in the Openbor build 4426 the entity only accepted pshot type, and did not work "Candamage".  :-\
