I want to like this game because of the cool hand art, but there’s really nothing here once you move beyond its pretty cut scenes. In-game graphics are a mess, with choppy animations and many of the effects promised by its creator not present or outright misused. At one point while I played, an affine layer (mode 7 for SNES fans) was scrolling the wrong direction.

Worst of all, the game is simply unplayable. Controls are sluggish at best. Meanwhile enemies coat the screen with essentially unavoidable shots, bouncing you back and forth until you shut it off from sheer boredom.

I applaud the creator’s art skills and attempt to build something unique, but the end result just doesn’t work.
