Light pen?

Does anyone have one of those "light pens" for on screen drawing...I have never used one and do they require a certain monitor type? I think if I had one I could do more detailed art using one than the mouse.

Hey Wombat, take a look at previousgens flagship tablet pcs.
You can find great one for 150 euro even less.
I bought two , same models from fujitsu, i had like 6 drawing tablets overall, tried ipadpro, samsung notes and all, but having a windows laptop with screen you can draw on isthe best experience, android and ios dont have the apps for animation amd drawing in the same league as windows.sad but true, cant beat windows in this area, its just long list of programs vs like ten on ios or android.
Mine is fujitsu t902, i have two of them, love them, im looking to snag 3rd one or maybe t936.I luckied out on 2nd one and got it for 50 euro,.
current ones like lenovo yoga with same specs in new tabletlike slim case costs 3* as much, yes , a bit scammy just for new slim case and same specced cpu.
when it comes to drawing new ones are fine too, like yoga 720 or 380, but are jist expensive for same result.
my first one was thinkpad x201 t, but it wasnt as fast as i wanytd, it was first dip, i wasnt sure if ill lile it so i tested it, got hooked and bought x230 t , then fujitsus t901, t902, then tried ipadpro but subscription based apps suck ass.
also apps are just not as good as windows progs
t902 can play gta iv so its fine for most stuff i do.
if you want gaming , look for yoga with ryzen or nvidia 1650 gpu.but its lot more ezpensive.
for drawing even x201 t is fine.or nonscreen tablets like bamboo, you can get ones for 20 euro.i have 3 of nonscreen ones, dont use them much.
mine looks like this

huion sells some cheapeast screen drawing tablets like camvas 12 for 200 euro but t902 is still cheaper and has cpu inside, imo best bang for buck.
