Hi, I'm sure many of you already know about the Bombergames project Streets of Rage Remake and it's utility SORmaker, that allows players to created a SOR based mod with it. (If you didn't know about this project, then what are you waiting for? Go and get it! There's download links here http://sorr.forumotion.net/t27-downloads-streets-of-rage-remake-ports ).

Anyways, I've been following this project for years and since its released, I've doing some mods and collaborated in others as well. I'd like to share to all the Beat 'em up fans here these mods, hoping you can enjoy them and give feedback if possible.

A perfect transition of the classic SNES beat 'em up Rushing Beat/Rival Turf! into the SOR style.

This mod features:

- Exact color palettes and names of enemies roleplaying the mooks from both Rival Turf!/Rushing Beat.
- Scenes from the game cleanly resized to match the SORR resolution (320 x 240), yet keeping the pixel perfect native resolution from the original.
- Perfect enemy positioning emulating the one in the original game.
- Scaled difficulty for Very Hard and Mania (extra enemies, more energy to bosses, etc.).
- Storyline (or more likely epilogue) inspired from the original Rushing Beat (including a translated ending).
- Faithful soundtrack of the original game.
- EXTRA SCENE available only for Very Hard or Mania players, offering remixed music, champion edition scenes, extra palettes and "characters" and a very challenging difficulty.

Tips and trivia:

- For perfect tribute gameplay, may I recommend using Axel as Rick Norton/Jack Flak or Max as Douglas Bild/Oozie Nelson.
- If you want the exact experience of the game play it in Hard or Below. However, Very Hard and Mania players are rewarded with a very extensive challenge mode that will put your skills to test.
- Take in mind the original game had very few energy items so be sharp, even though the swarms are not too big (usually max 3 or 4 enemies per wave) if played carelessly would be too hard for you.
- Play it with the custom palettes included in the file to enjoy the tribute at its fullest.

Enjoy, looking forward for your feedback.

So here it is, my secret project, a remake of Double Dragon II.

This is how a remake of Double Dragon II Arcade would come up with a couple of enhanced graphics and using the arranged music album as well.
It also includes a special remix path that mixes up elements from Double Dragon Advance and Super Double Dragon.
Enemy placement is exactly verbatim as appears in Double Dragon II arcade in Hard mode, with extra enemies in Very Hard and Mania. The Megamix path also have exact positioning mixed of DDA and SDD.

The cast of characters includes almost every baddy from the 2D Double Dragon series, all with exact palettes of each and every enemy appearing in the games. It's highly recommendable to play it with the custom sound pack and the palettes, otherwise you'll miss half the fun of this mod as it's a big tribute to the series.

Scenes ripped and edited by yours truly. Using some rips from Mr. Q's mods of Double Dragon.

Includes custom palettes and sounds. For the custom sound files, place the folder "Sound Effects data" in the main folder of SORR, then rename it into "data".

The custom palettes can be places in the enemies palettes, substituting the existing ones (back up your own palettes).

Special thanks to Laucorn and Xenovant for their help.

Oh... also...
As you may know, my mods always include something special... keep playing and you'll unlock something really cool...

I don't think SOR graphics fits on DDII graphics, plus, Max is GIANT (look his size and the helicopter size in comparsion).

That's why I "remade" the stages so don't look too 80's Technos, they have more detail. Besides, this is a homage, nothing else.

Okay, I'm reviving this just to bring to your attention that a new patch for SOR Remake has been leaked out. That'sright, this is Streets of Rage Remake v5.1.

This patch has a HUGE deal of improvements of the main core game and lots of fixes for SORmaker, lots of new features like CPU AI assisting you now in mods, able to call the CPU partner and do other things.

Furthermore, SORmaker has tons of fixes and additions that make the mods now more alive.

To get it, come here:

I need to find some time to play with this SOR Maker. It could be easier in some aspects.

You gonna love it.

Now, this is the fully animated intro of the incoming SORR mod Mighty Final Fight EX, a 16-bit/CPS1'ish reimagination of Capcom's NES game using the SORmaker engine and the Streets of Rage characters performing as the Final Fight's cast.
The intro is beautifully assembled by BigDarsh and the art direction by the hand of Spanish wonder Klares. Final Fight's remixed music is by the talented Axelfan and the game design and planning by yours truly. Enjoy the teaser of stage 1.

sorry but that drawing in the intro video looks really rough. the faces look warped and awkward.

I know its harsh but reminds me of the recent Jesus painting restoration.

th

Im guessing the pictures were also freehand drawn ? use reference material as a guide and id suggest you redo.

The art was done by Klares. He's kinda known by doing freehand artworks by using MS Paint, he even built a whole mod without using any sprite resource but his own artworks, the mod is called Las Calles de la Rabia. I know his style is rather unusual but it's somehow an acquired taste. I don't find it drastically bad (the mod is pretty solid, BTW).

Don Vectra, which version are you using? I tried in 5.0 and also at 5.1 and could not run the mod Mighty Final Fight EX.
