I did not realize that they were unofficial or that it was in bad taste to ask. 5 mins and 5 years are worlds apart and I use those devices you call toasters for ease of use they are all pre configured I am not to savvy when it comes to pc but it looks like I will have to learn thx hugs and kisses

Yeah the only official versions are windows ( the main thing) with Android and Linux as main ports. The Dreamcast version was dropped years ago.

The good thing of having an open source code is to have people to collaborate. But at the same time, people does a lot of unofficial ports and the users comes here (and in many cases, complaining about it), which puts more burden on devs shoulders. We even have cases of communities of said ports (or dropped ports) that , for whatever reason, attack and offend the devs just because their ports aren't official or were dropped. I don't need to explain that isn't a cool thing to do right ? :)

Just to give you more context.

Not at all I greatly appreciate all there work including yours. I am clueless when it comes to technology my only point is some of us do not know much when it comes to developing games. I also saw a post on dreamcast talk by the creator to email him about getting the cdi version witch i did but did not hear back so I figured I would try here. Again thx for all the games you guys create myself and son love them and again I am sorry if I was out of line and offended anyone that was not my intention. On that note I would like to ask another ? I hope it is appropriate for myself to ask if not I apologize in advance. Would you guys know of any tutorials on how to convert openbor games to cdis to work on dreamcast?

No one is offended, friend. Regarding converting games to Dreamcast, though, I think you may still be missing the central point: there is no one-to-one conversion process.

You would effectively have to rebuild the module around the limitations of the Dreamcast version of OpenBOR, which is unofficial and is neither developed nor maintained by this community. Part of that work involves downsampling all the graphics to use a single universal palette. In most cases, you would also need to cut content severely and disable the lazy-allocation model, resulting in more memory churn and longer load times, just to keep total RAM usage below 16 MB.

That is a tremendous amount of work. It takes a lot of time, a reasonable level of technical skill, and by design, produces an inferior version of the game. Some creators, including the creator of this project, have explicitly stated that they do not want such versions made. Ignoring those wishes would also be an act of pointed disrespect toward the people whose work you are attempting to port.

I see no practical value in it unless someone is simply that obsessed with playing games on the Dreamcast - and despite DC being my actual initials, I’m not part of that crowd. :)

Thanks for the clarification I def could not do what you guys do with these amazing games. Again did not intend to upset anyone. I did have one more ? I was under the impression that the creator did port this game to the dreamcast with less features as i believe he posted here https://www.dreamcast-talk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=13479
Am I mistaken any clarification would be appreciated. As far as the dreamcast I use it just for the fact that I built an arcade machine around a pandoras box board just cause the setup is idiot proof and I can be an idiot an unfortunately it runs openbor but only thru Dreamcast and PSP

That is **not** the creator.

At this point, I am starting to lose patience, because it feels like you are ignoring the answers I have already given you. I have explained this distinction several times now, so I am going to state it as plainly as possible:

There is **no OpenBOR Team-supported Dreamcast port**.

There is **no legitimate Dreamcast version of any @magggas game project**.

The thread you linked does not show @magggas porting his game to Dreamcast. It shows someone else taking his work and adapting it to an unofficial Dreamcast version of OpenBOR.

That distinction is exactly what I have been trying to explain. Someone making an unofficial Dreamcast adaptation of an OpenBOR game does not make that adaptation official, supported by the OpenBOR Team, or authorized by the game's creator.

Please understand that point before continuing to ask about converting or obtaining Dreamcast versions of these games.
