Pirates of the Dark waters OpenBor game

Welcome to the community @LorddRaptorr.

Don't know about the game much yet - but please stop referring to OpenBOR an emulator.

OpenBOR is NOT an emulator of any kind. It causes a lot of support problems for us when people keep pushing misinformation like that. OpenBOR is a game engine, same as Unreal or Unity.

Good start and a great idea to work on the Dark Water license. No sound effects or music in this project?

The sprites could be recolored and separated by color for more varied palettes.

I'm wondering if a crossover with Hook on the SNES is possible. Don't hesitate to ask if you need any help 😉

Hi!) I make Pirates of the Dark waters OpenBor game. I used SNES sprites. May it optimized (only 5 mb). What do you think about it?

Nice start! Pretty basic but it's a good start for expansion.
My feedbacks:
1. Avoid putting wait near holes if possible. Fighting enemies while avoiding getting knocked into a hole is a challenge. However fighting enemies on two sides of hole back and forth is a chore.
2. Fix dragon rider boss so it performs more attacks than just charging forward while flying so low. Speaking of which, the boss could be more challenging if it flies high enough to be struck by jump attacks.

Yes, it is important to optimize your resources; however, whether your game is 5 or 50MB doesn't matter much on current platforms:
the quality of the content takes precedence over everything else.

You could use for example the serie's intro as the game's intro:
A widescreen video mode would be a plus on current monitors and would improve gaming comfort.
Finally, improving the graphics settings to display nice, well-defined colors would be appreciated.

The Sega Genesis version also has other resources (and pirate models in particular) that might be interesting to import here.

I hope Ren can reforge his sword one day, and that it will be on Openbor, for example ;)
