Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge - Official Reveal Trailer

Glad Activision are no longer involved. But I'm disappointing in it seeming like just nostalgia pandering with the choice of incarnation design; but the Turtle sprites are a lot like the GBA ones. Hoping for some more obscure enemies to be featured in official sprites for the first time.

I think they nailed it. TMNT is like Mega man: only the classic series counts, the rest is irrelevant.

I loved that they went with the classic chubby turtles instead of the deformed nickelodeon version or the gangsta movie version.

Where does the very original comic fit, then? It predates the more well-known show. And yes, unlike Mega, there are a lot more truly bad incarnations, like that movie version you discussed. Most of them are just not your taste, though.

I think only a few thousand people have read those comics in their entirety, I'm a turtle fan and even I haven't read all those comics however billions of people know the classic look so in regards to creating something going for the classic look is defiantly a good move, a series is only as good as its most popular incarnation and if they made a ninja turtles game based on the black and white comic or Michael Bay's I don't think it'll do well at all, I understand the whole nostalgia pandering though but why make it if its not about nostalgia? do we really need another new version? pink ninja turtles perhaps who are not mutants but aliens? I like the look of this game, it has a nice mix of the arcade/tv series but I can see they've gone for that same chewing gum style of animation which I'm not a fan off, It does NOT look as nice as bWWd's tv series version though.

The overall look of the game is miles better, that's obvious and for obvious reasons, I was referring more to the art style which you used in your game, for example in their game the intro is more like the TV series but in game the turtles arms and legs look really short and Leo's swords look huge, proportions look off to me, don't hate it, fresh feel, but definitely prefer the look of your game

I too prefer bwwd's version. Maybe their shading is better tho? They did a decent job on sor4 and wonderboy so it should be good. Reminds me a lot of the gba version?

It does feel like they're stealing konami's tmnt style though. I mean it's almost like a knockoff? Wouldn'tlet modern day konami touch it. Although tmnt was fun back in the day. I wouldn't put it in my top 10 beat em ups.

A darker tmnt like the comic would have been a nice switchup for a change.

There is a tmnr 2013 tmnt beat em up for the arcade.

I am talking about just cartoons, not the comics. They are like an alternate universe for me (and looks ok).
But the other version...oh God, no.

I thought it was just my imagination, but indeed the characters look a bit off, kind of "chibbi"-fyied, i guess they are doing it to avoid any troubles with konami.
That should have been no trouble tho, more frame-rate would make it stand out even if they had been the same base sprites
That said i agree bWWd's version has a style that works better if you want the game to match the cartoon cutscenes - it would be perfection to see the game be a mix of what it is & bWWd's work in the art style, leaning heavily (70%)+ in favor of bWWd

If they do take inspiration from the Konami version, I WANT MY QUAD SLAM BACK!!! I know it was OP in the original but damnit.

I would say that most people outside of the US and Canada knew about the TMNT thanks to the cartoon and the massive merchandising that came with it, not from the comics. So if they wanted to make a game appealing to nostalgia, it seems natural their choice with the cartoon style.
In my case, I played the arcade game before the cartoon arrived, and when the cartoon did, it started with the second season, so I thought the cartoon was a sequel to the arcade game lol
Many, including me, got disappointed when the 90’s movie came and introduced Tokka & Razzar instead of Cowboy & Bebop. Also most people playing the tournament fighters games were like “who are all those people?” “Why not general tragg, krang, bebop, Baxter,  leatherhead etc instead of hothead, amaggon, war and other characters we never saw in the show”.

I liked the style this game is coming in.

April looks real smooth and nice here. She was also announced for that Nickelodeon crossover fighter.
