I made some changes on torso and arms to show more movement, reducing the non-moving parts. In addition, I reduced the delay between every frame to make it a bit quicker, preventing the "slide in the ice" effect.
I looked at some running animations on the original games and curiously even on these I found some inconsistencies, like Abadede. His upper body simply doesn't move during the entire running animation, only your legs. I think Max is not too far from the average of the originals.
Maybe I could understand better if I see the changes you are talking about in a sprite. Here's a demo of the latest changes:
Personally I prefer a simple and discreet running.
I want to make a commercial game in the future using all the SORX code as base.
Once the Rebellion mode is a way to extend the gameplay experience for fun, I leave all the enemies and bosse's advantages. In short, all bosses remain overpowered even in your playable versions.
But it's impossible to do everything different because both SORX and SORR are using the same original trilogy as a basis. As an example, you can find recycled textures from both SOR2 and SOR3 in the SOR1 route as they have the correct aspect ratio. People might say I got it from SORR, but actually they're from the original games.

Yeah, I prefer the v5.2 running animation too (or even a "fast walking") instead of the v5.1, because I think this one is very "scandalous" lol.I’m glad you didn’t use the Max running sprite from Sorr5.1, I think that one looks awful and with both arms reaching the same height it looks like he’s just switching arms instead of moving them.

Thank you friendNow about your videos, I’m totally and greatly astonished!!! I agree with Danno 100%. Just imagine the possibilities, you would be kicking lot of commercial games down of the blue. I haven’t played SOR4 but I think SOR2X is superior? And specially with this new rework you are doing, the only limitation you have is the sprite. You’ll do wonders with reworking games like Vendetta, Denjin Makai 2 and Violent Storm. Or even Capcom’s Battle Circuit, but specially working on original games which I’m sure would be successful among the beat’em up fans. Many original indie beat’em ups have very nice sprite art but very basic gameplay.
No, he can fly at any time. In fact every enemy/boss was built focusing on offering difficulty to players, so they are not on the same balance rules of the main heroes.- does using Jet abilities drain your health? Flying all the time would make him too overpowered.

I will continue updating SORX for many years yet, but at least for now the SOR1 route is the last big update. After that I will work on SOR2/SOR1 heroes and some missing things like SOR3/SOR1 weapons and the police car special. In addition, there's a lot of custom fan-made content to be added to.- at some point after you release SORX, will you move to another project or will you continue adding extra stuff? Thinking on totally new stages not featured in the previous SoR games, making it like an alternative sequel of sor3, and please with no more Mr X on it :d
Yeah, I'm always avoiding the SORR sprites and at the moment every original asset from the remake has totally vanished. To be very honest, only the Souther's hair and some parts of the SOR1 Signal clothes are from there (they are only parts and don't count as an original unmodified asset). The Max running sprites were built taking the v5.2 as a reference, the main differences can be seen mainly on the frames 1/2/4/5.This is just a personal opinion, not requesting or anything: I’d like if you don’t use any of the sorr edited sprites because I remember years back in that community they were very protective with their sprites specially against Openbor.
