Thanks for all feedbacks and suggestions :)

I made some changes on torso and arms to show more movement, reducing the non-moving parts. In addition, I reduced the delay between every frame to make it a bit quicker, preventing the "slide in the ice" effect.

I looked at some running animations on the original games and curiously even on these I found some inconsistencies, like Abadede. His upper body simply doesn't move during the entire running animation, only your legs. I think Max is not too far from the average of the originals.

Maybe I could understand better if I see the changes you are talking about in a sprite. Here's a demo of the latest changes:

I’m glad you didn’t use the Max running sprite from Sorr5.1, I think that one looks awful and with both arms reaching the same height it looks like he’s just switching arms instead of moving them.
Yeah, I prefer the v5.2 running animation too (or even a "fast walking") instead of the v5.1, because I think this one is very "scandalous" lol.
Personally I prefer a simple and discreet running.

Now about your videos, I’m totally and greatly astonished!!! I agree with Danno 100%. Just imagine the possibilities, you would be kicking lot of commercial games down of the blue. I haven’t played SOR4 but I think SOR2X is superior? And specially with this new rework you are doing, the only limitation you have is the sprite. You’ll do wonders with reworking games like Vendetta, Denjin Makai 2 and Violent Storm. Or even Capcom’s Battle Circuit, but specially working on original games which I’m sure would be successful among the beat’em up fans. Many original indie beat’em ups have very nice sprite art but very basic gameplay.
Thank you friend :) I want to make a commercial game in the future using all the SORX code as base.

- does using Jet abilities drain your health? Flying all the time would make him too overpowered.
No, he can fly at any time. In fact every enemy/boss was built focusing on offering difficulty to players, so they are not on the same balance rules of the main heroes.
Once the Rebellion mode is a way to extend the gameplay experience for fun, I leave all the enemies and bosse's advantages. In short, all bosses remain overpowered even in your playable versions.

- at some point after you release SORX, will you move to another project or will you continue adding extra stuff? Thinking on totally new stages not featured in the previous SoR games, making it like an alternative sequel of sor3, and please with no more Mr X on it :d
I will continue updating SORX for many years yet, but at least for now the SOR1 route is the last big update. After that I will work on SOR2/SOR1 heroes and some missing things like SOR3/SOR1 weapons and the police car special. In addition, there's a lot of custom fan-made content to be added to.

This is just a personal opinion, not requesting or anything: I’d like if you don’t use any of the sorr edited sprites because I remember years back in that community they were very protective with their sprites specially against Openbor.
Yeah, I'm always avoiding the SORR sprites and at the moment every original asset from the remake has totally vanished. To be very honest, only the Souther's hair and some parts of the SOR1 Signal clothes are from there (they are only parts and don't count as an original unmodified asset). The Max running sprites were built taking the v5.2 as a reference, the main differences can be seen mainly on the frames 1/2/4/5.

But it's impossible to do everything different because both SORX and SORR are using the same original trilogy as a basis. As an example, you can find recycled textures from both SOR2 and SOR3 in the SOR1 route as they have the correct aspect ratio. People might say I got it from SORR, but actually they're from the original games.

Yes, looks better. Definitely!

Would you share the updated sheet ?
I might give it a try as well.

About Abadede, you cannot really compare.
-This is a different "type" of run (because he's preparing his lariat)
-It's initially a "non playable" character, so it is ok.
-They certainly did it to save memory, just like some enemies have the same thing during their walk animation. (Same in Final fight)

The real non moving problem is more a problem when you animate 2 frames, and we can see one limb don't move at all. (I think)

Also, for the future of SORX, I'm curious when should I suggest/give you my custom character?
I mean when are you going to add extra unlisted characters? I remember we talked about it in the past.
I have some concept sprites, but I cannot concentrate on spriting my full spriteset right now, so, I wish to know when it would happen, so I will not miss the moment.

After the SOR1 route, I need to add some remaining content yet, like SOR2/SOR1 heroes and SOR3/SOR1 weapons (police car too).

Here's a quick list:
- SOR2 Axel (with some exclusive sprites made by Luke K.).
- SOR2 Blaze.
- SOR2 Max beta (with some exclusive sprites made by Luke K.).
- SOR2 Sammy (with some exclusive sprites made by Luke K.).
- SOR1 Axel (redrawing using the SOR1 original resized sprites, same as I did with Souther, once the BKM version uses the SOR2 sprites).
- BKM Blaze (count as SOR1 version).
- BKM Adam (Thanks to Mr. Hunter for the new sprites, count as SOR1 version)
- SOR3 weapons: Baseball Bat, Grenade (Plank maybe, I don't know yet since Pipe does the same thing).
- SOR1 weapons: Pepper Shaker, Beer Bottle.

When there's no more original content to be added, we can focus on custom content. But don't worry, every step will be announced here.

As for the "custom content", what takes priority for that? SOR4 stuff? Beta stuff?

NED is right, there's no priority during the custom content fase. I will start using the sprites I already received from some people, after that the SOR4 content can be a good idea to work on.

But any suggestion is always welcome.

@Kratus so next release will be out when you finish all Original content, and then at a later date you’ll release another update with the custom content?

I would really love custom stages, to stop the feeling of playing another remake, and feel more like playing a new game in the SoR world. (Specially without Mr X. The guy has more lives than Kenny from South Park). And there’s no better mod to have that than SoRX with all the amazing work you have done with it.

Edit: a little grammar

Hi everybody. The other day I had an idea to redraw Adam BKM. You already see the result.
It took me two weeks of sleepless nights to redraw.
How do you like this result?
If something is missing in it, you can fix it.

Not exactly, I will launch gradual and smaller updates according to the list I posted before.

Buddy, I understand your point, but to be honest the focus of the SORX is a new fighting mechanic on the same orignal games. Perhaps the biggest news could be a possible SOR4 route, but there's a huge amount of work to be made yet.

Thanks man :)

This one seems to have a better color than the previous sheet you posted, but some moves are missing like the "vault".

Anyway, great job :) These sprites will be very useful in future updates.

I"m not familliar with BKM sprites, I'm not even sure where to find them.
I'm curious to compare a single sprite to see what you have edited on them.
These sprites looks good!

Perhaps just one "flaw" is the lack (or not enough) of dark color in Adam's Yellow top in some animations ONLY.
Exemple : during the run animation.

I take it that Abadede and Mr. X's SOR1 versions are not a priority to add?
Great, thanks friend!

As for the rest of the original content, there’s SOR1 Abadede and SOR1 Mr. X, as well as the explosive robot drones from the SMS SOR2 and the SMS version of Yasha. Don’t recall if the US versions of SOR3 Electra and SOR3 Soozie/Garnet are in, either.

In fact no, because both SOR2 versions of Abadede/Mr. X already are a better redrawn version, same as the BKM characters currently are too. So, I think it's redundant to make them again.

However, I agree with the robots and the SMS haircut Blaze made by Kimono as a custom.

I see. The SOR1 sprite sets for those two are rather ugly anyway. Pretty hyped for the release of X, been playing 2X and 4 as preparation.

Yes, I'm pretty sure the content will be great!
I don't put so much rush into Sor4 content, because, it means it will take many years to complete such content.

So, my hopes goes for the classic content first, then the extra/custom. Then why not go for Sor4 content.
To be honest, not so many stuffs from Sor4 are realy appealing in term of gameplay etc... perhaps beside of Cherry...

If you go to features on Settings in SOR 2X, and you set the timer to off, does it turn the timer completely off?
@MastaThundaTackle1345 Did you mean the "show level time" option? If yes, this option only hides the timer, but for the future SORX game I created an additional option to completely disable it, this one is called "game timer".

Welcome to the forum @MastaThundaTackle1345.

Your question concerns a specific game module, not the OpenBOR engine. I am moving it to the SORX thread and tagging the creator @Kratus.

@DCurrent Thanks for redirecting the post :)

The SOR1 sprite sets for those two are rather ugly anyway.
@Miru Totally agree. In addition, taking the Souther job as a reference, the original SOR1 sprites would be hard to redrawn. I'm only redrawing SOR1 Axel because there's no better version made officially by Sega.

So, my hopes goes for the classic content first, then the extra/custom
@NED Yeah, we may stay creating customs for a long time because there's no limit for creativity.
The SORR modder Don Vecta offered me some of his custom content to be added on SORX, he did a amazing job with the Streets of Kamurocho mod and to be honest I'm super hyped to put it as a new route (or at least as alternative levels, like I did with the SMS/GG content).

What I really regret is the fact (If I understand well the situation) That Bomber games team don't allow(?) the use of their custom sprites.
It would be a great base for more SorX content. It's a waste of work. THe content creation for SorX would be way faster...
(Please confirm me if I'm wrong about the situation)
