Just curious

Does anyone else live near a lake or any body of water and spend time on a boat on the lake, river or ocean?

There's a 60 KM long lake in my home town (Cave Run Lake), but I don't spend much time on it. I'm a generalist outdoor adventurer, and part of that is whitewater kayaking and racing.

I can kayak on land pretty good to, lol. The POV is my friend, I'm the one going second in the black kayak.

Still get my a** kicked once in a while though...

Give me a chance and I'll even go toe to toe with the ocean. :p

Awesome guys. I grew up on a lake.and go boating often, From fishing to skiing. There's something about being on or near the water that renews and revives you. A place where you can just kind of rest your mind and process things in times of despair. @DCurrent that looks so fun! I love that part of the US. Kentucky is quite beutiful. Great video that is now doubt a wonderful exxperience. We have whitewater rafting up near the mountains where I live. @danno me too....it's a great place to think and reflect and be in a world of your own. I have been pondering a new adventure in the future idea with friends. I have been doing some real thinking about doing something most people wouldn't a new kind of therapeutic water adventure. Something that I think would just be a great experience to share with friends.

For sheer peace and quiet, there's a lake near here (Lake Carnico) that's just perfect. It's about fifty hectares. Big enough you can spend all day on it, but small enough they don't allow any powered boats over idle speed. I use it for training. Do a few rolls and a couple of laps around the shore; usually takes me about two hours. Then just float out to the middle and drift a little bit. Even better at night.

Floating sounds great. I kind of like the sound of that.. Just like slow sailing or drifting and nobody gets motion sickness lol. I love the water it's a great place to be. Been having nightmares inexplainable. Odd ones where everything is upside down people do odd things completely out of character Sheer terrifying. In them I keep asking why all the differences and the responses are illogical. Very vivid nightmares difficult to interpret but seem so real. When I wake up it seems like I dreamt the whole time about 2 hours because their dreams are not short. I remember most of them and usually most of the tine I forget parts.
Over most of my life I typically have just short and scattered dreams. I realize they are only dreams but when I awaken I awaken trembling, sweating cold and so scared. Almost traumatic. I felt like going out on the lake lol. It was 1:45 AM exactly when I woke up nd saw the clock time. I took medicine that my doctor prescribes for anxiety attacks about an hour and a half later I was fine and wrote this post and was relaxed enough to try to go back to sleep. WOW! It was great talking about water hobbies and routines with you guys. I feel like I need adventure and real brotherhood.
