I want to try my hands at making a mod with Openbor for Knights of Valour 2.
I managed to piece together sprites to create a few ideas of what I want to achieve over the weekend.
The goal of the mod is to bring the best parts of the game to the forefront and make the boss battle fun.
There are characters that spawn in areas they shouldn't.

I don't know what I'm doing so feel to point anything regarding creating the mod (tutorials) or any other things that could get in the way of making the mod.


1.pngThis image shows one of my favorite enemies! Dude in red.
He has so much moves and is fun to fight.
The spike barrier is there to address the issue of enemies going off screen but in the image below are boats that prevent enemies going off entirely.

Next are these Spear dudes that love to jump in and out the water!
My issue is that they placed on levels in the game that don't allow them to jump in water outside of this stage so the end up jumping in place.
A stage like a log raft would be better suited for these enemies types.


3.pngThis boss with low morale which affect the strikers is dumb found since everyone is doing their own thing.
The gold dragon seen above and below show which way the attack is coming from.
There's a drum that goes off when the player needs to go. It would make for a great audio queue to the striker attack.

The gold dragon will show the player which way the stiker attack is coming!
Left, right and centre.
The boss is in the center to avoid getting hit by his own men.
The fight is 1v1 on a 2d plain supposedly.

Here is a boss with high morale using his unique striker to stun the player.
Enemies that won't be used will chill in the background.
Love their taunts and idle animation.

Finally we have the 3 roaming bosses.
One can confuse the player by messing with the controls or turn the player into wooden figured. The other use poison and the beast tamer turn passive animals hostile towards the player.
The animal should behave like the dinosaurs in Cadillac and Dinosaurs.
They run off once they change color.
They will be annoying so killing them should be fun.
Morale is affected but the players performance by not getting hit and pulling off double digit combos.
If the player is knocked down then they will taunt him.
Morale affect the boss striker pool and enemies attacks so if you play well they will run away if they see their comrades dying to specials.
This game has done most of what I said but it also did a lot other things I don't like especially the boss fights.
Delete it if fall under any infringement.
I'm open to suggestions
