Avengers United Battle Force

In Progress Avengers United Battle Force 2.7.41

The project is currently under development.
One of my favorite helpers on the game: Doctor Strange's Eye of Agamotto
It simple kills minions instantly, no matter their health.

Wolverine takes down Black Knight. Watch combos, finishers, and boss tactics, a fun fan-game preview while we wait for the upcoming Wolverine PS5 game.

Testing with two new bosses for the project:
Exodus, one of Magneto's Acolytes. An Omega-level telekinetic and one of the most powerful telekinetics on the planet.

Still figuring out all of his mechanics, but I think he has the potential to become a good boss.

the other is Mr. Negative, one of Spider-Man's enemies. He may not join the game now (or only in Boss Rush mode for now).

A collection of the grab special, a new mechanic added in Avengers Unite Battle Force. It deals slightly less damage than a free special, but is easier to land because it can only be performed during a grab, and you are invincible during the attack.

Characters not shown here either don't have this mechanic (like Quicksilver and Deadpool) or aren't ready yet. Emma Frost's move has a peculiarity: she creates an astral projection that confuses enemies and attracts their attention.

Two things concerning all of this:
  1. Does this game have a story?
  2. This is getting impressive. I can't wait for the final results.

Good grabs and slams can REALLY give a game some gameplay pleasure IMO.
I feel like game that skip that or make it really simple are not that fun to play.
And it's a good opportunity to show difference of type of characters, particularly when they are super heroes and basically many can just throw beams or whatever.

Thanks for the compilation.
Keep it up with the great work.

I totally agree with this. Grabs are a must have in beat em ups :)

Ah, for that, I created a different mechanic called "Rushdown": characters can perform a combo while running, which helps with crowd control.

Only melee characters can do this (and to be considered melee, the character cannot have long-range attacks). Or characters known for being excellent martial artists, like Black Widow.

At 0:49

The exception here is Captain America, because he already has several advantages over other characters, such as (another) system called "Iron Will" - characters who are poisoned cannot perform special moves, except those known for having an indomitable willpower.

In the case of Grabspecial, all characters who can grab can perform it.

Forgetting what you made in the first place before/until you mess it up would become very problematic and it can lead you to quit. You know I have a very difficult project due to scripts being required, but I try to keep (some) other basics in mind on where I started. There may be some parts that I have forgotten, but when I take a look at what I made before, I start to remember how I started first. If I don't remember what I made at all, I make a new text file so that I could remind myself or remember where/how I started. I ask myself sometimes on the very first step I started before (re)doing it. This is where I go back to the basics of some sort, especially any part I started. Here's my favorite quote from one of the Ace Attorney games.

When you've run into a wall with no place to go, return to the basics.

I'm not a lawyer, but this quote applies to me as a reminder on where I started my project. For you, I think you find what made you start working on Iron Fist in the first place, or you make a new text file for applying him to how you want him to be like.

I know how you feel about those "blind" errors demotivating you from progressing, and it's the same thing happening to me too (or it did happen to me too, but maybe there will be when I encounter any). But I always persist in getting the system working, so I don't quit. Plenty of trials and errors.

Keep up with the best of luck, man!
