what category do you think beat em up games should be in?

arcade games?
action games?
adventure?

personaly i think arcade is the most correct category


also i noticed that at game jolt  support # tags to link themes like

#chronocrash
#beatemup
in the game description
for example  we can link our games there for tags in the same genre

Anyways, beat'm up can be considered arcade and action IMO but since GameJolt uses gun image for action category, it makes me think that arcade is best category

yeah on gamejolt

i was sleeping into my keyboard when i posted it :)  but i was refering into gamejolt.
there support #tags on game description and if you click on those tags you get all games that uses those tags.

they use it for game jolt jams event but we from chronocrash can use it to link all openbor games into a #chronocrash tag or #beatemup will be great for people who are looking for this exact type of game that is hard to find in the arcade section from gamejolt

Adventure no, even if some mods clearly are.

But, arcade is a kind of game? it's weird no? or it's me...
 
Arcade usually means you have lives, credits and continues.  And the game is based around high scores and gaining extra lives.  So OpenBOR qualifies for sure.

Arcade is definitely a kind of game but within another classification system. "Action", "Adventure", etc define what the game is about and what you do in it, whereas "Arcade" define the form and game style of the game.
