BOR Issue on 4.4.2, application crashes

First, are you trying to run Beats of Rage (BOR) or Open Beats of Rage (OpenBOR)? Your question says BOR, but people tend to confuse the two with each other so we need to make sure of which one you're talking about.

where did you get q9 recently? i looked for one but cant find it.
I ran openbor on gpd q8+ and did not had issues, gamepad worked fine.
It just worked like on android devices.
Also lifespan of mine was about 1.5 years, cpu died/fried itself just randomly one day, it heated up too much for too long amd finally died i suspect.

Thanks a lot, it worked!!! I downloaded openBOR from this page and although I have had some crashes, I've been able to play. By the way, is there any way to change the default folder? I'm trying to use the SD card but the folder was created by the app in the internal memory, and just another question, do I have to set the controls for each game or is there any way to change them all by deafult?

Glad you got it working. As for the folders and saves, I'm afraid the answer to both questions is no.
Folders are "soft required", the engine can and will start up just fine without them. Even a game pack isn't required, but of course you'll just get a screen that says there's nothing to load. However, each time you start the engine executable it will look for the soft required folders and create them if they don't exist. In the case of Saves, if that's missing or moved, you'll always start with a default configuration for the given game.
Also, you are allowed to have multiple games in the Packs folder, in which case OpenBOR will start with a menu to choose between them. This is a convenience feature, but don't let it fool you. All OpenBOR powered games are fully self contained with their own control options, saves, and so on. It's an engine, not an emulator.

The android port supports 4.1 jelly bean and above it should not be crashing but if it starts up fine then crashes when playing its just a guess but you could be running out of ram.
No, the device has 2GB of RAM and it crashed just at starting. I'm afraid I downloaded another fail version or so AGAIN, I think the one in the vault works flawless, it must have been my fault.
