Cartoon games suggestions

My point personally--well, i don't mind that "Eric" is the one with the most defensive feature, it's understandable since he carries the shield, To me it is fun because that type of variation in character "stats" adds strategy and more interesting gameplay.
But, here'd be my point...is it possible to make a version with cheats enabled so we can have unlimited credits?Or give players many more credits than just 3?
it can take too much skill to beat story mode >_< even arcade...and i am not so great so even though i have been playing since the day after release i cannot finish and fully experience the game.
As for 80's/90's cartoons, i have many suggestions:
Street Sharks never had a game...(I could see some good use of the driving sections that the OpenBor engine uses in a game about "Street Sharks", something like 'Mad Motor' arcade maybe hehe: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gye9qXvXOOE )
"Swat Kats" had a decent game, but it is a side scroller rather than multidirectional beat 'em up...they even tried a mode-7 shooting section..honestly, i feel it would've been fun as a beat 'em up, and again, the OpenBor engine has a good feature for "Shoot 'em Up" sections such as "U.N. Squadron" and other sidescroller shooting games...i think this would be a perfect addition, fitting, like in the case of the street sharks bonus vehicle levels.
The "Mighty Ducks" (Disney animated series) never had a game...and there wasn't much Hockey involved, there was a bunch of shooting and fighting and spaceships and powered-up masks, lol, so that'd be another...
"Ronin Warriors" never had a game...it would make a great "Knights Of Valour" type game; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p98bKDW_uYY
Well, i have way too many 80s/90s ideas, but i don't want to take so much text space, but if members don't mind, i would like to mention several more later, but first i want to let people post about this amazing dungeon and dragons animated series fangame :)

PS: these are just that: ideas...nothing more; i do not mean to "request" anything, nor expect anything i mention to be made at all ^^;;; so please don't take them as demands or anything of the sort. This is more like "brainstorming" since i love 80s/90s series haha...

That's nice that you've made a game with this cartoon :) .
I played your game and I suggest two little things:
- Eric should have the ability to block when he's on his idle state
- We could walk behind the shops too.

Excellent game and I love the recolorations that you've made on some enemies  8) .

One of my favorite cartoons when I was very young was C.O.P.S., an animated serie with future policemen and women:

The black guy with shades reminds me of the reboot to adam hunter (just the face).

i stared Ronin Warrios some time ago already :) already did base tests, somes sprites and char designs, early almost zero progress, but still on plans...

to everyone who wants cheat, or more lives, try enter at select screen of arcade mode, then ESC and start history mode, you will start with 3 lives, but with 3 continues too.

Oh, my....god :D you have no idea how happy knowing this makes me, as both a huge ronin warriors fan, and a fan of your games, it blew my mind that it is something that would be in the planning stage someday in the future. Thanks, you made my day ^^

Oh, that's interesting, thanks, i was not aware of that cheat...i can do this at another level too? (for example, say i am in stage 3 of story mode...can i go to arcade's select screen, press esc, and then load my continue of level 3 story mode?Or would that not work?)

The blonde cop girl with the hat reminds me of Sonya Blade from MKX lol!

Hey, creators of "C.O.P.S" animated show, it may be your chance to send them a petty "Cease and Desist" letter to IDSA & warner / netherrealm ;)

I would really like to make a game of this some day, the 1980's era of cartoon intro's have some of the best animations I've ever seen, music rocks too, shame the main shows never lived up to there intro's. oh and this

I'd love to see someone do a game based on The Real Ghostbusters with the same graphical fidelity and presentation that was done in the He-Man game (fantastic game) and have the gameplay that's similar to Alien Storm. Add in some auto-scrolling Ecto-1 levels or even a Statue of Liberty level every so often between levels to break up the gameplay. There are so many awesome-looking ghosts with lots of variety too. This would be absolutely incredible and I am surprised that it hasn't been done yet, given that there are multiple other series that have gotten OpenBor titles and Ghostbusters is as ripe as any other property for a 4 player coop beat em up.

M.A.S.K. ala Ninjawarriors or Batman & Robin and Pole Position as a racing game. I can see Ulysses 31 as a metroidvania game, Silverhawks as a shooter and Thundercats as a traditional 4 player arcade beat em up.

@danno

so that is where the weird toys with hollograms i saw in a shop during the 80's came from.

Making a ghostbusters game is going to be a bit hard without adding some kind of basic polygon handling on the engine (think of it as a super FX chip for Openbor)
i would not know where to even begin , but think about it - lots of marionette type animations in games like Symphony of the night (bosses) seem to be handled with a polygon/bones kind of animation system, the purpose for this is to enable the games to rotate, stretch & distort flat sprites "projected" on a couple of triangles.

Ailen soldier on the genesis did a lot of marionette type animations, but the guy who made it is a programming genius:
the only problem i see with them is that they seem to stick to pre-scripted motions, & they cant react or think in realtime like some enemies in Openbor games.
For a ghostbusters game the beams have to be almost as fluid as water (mario sunshine) & the same might go for some Ghost bosses....

I think that a combination of Alien storm & Ghostbusters for the genesis plus anything that can be "rescued" from the nes version & the arcades could work,
but one thing that has to work well are the beams, & they only seem to work well in 3D engines (they are basically a multi-segmented/boned polygon object)

the sega genesis version has a cool ghost catching beam that uses button timing but it is stiff & one-directional,
but for my money the best "feel" for catching ghosts is to use an analogue stick to "reel" in the ghosts, like the fishing on Zelda Ocarina of time.
Ghostbusters the videogame has a similar "reel in" system but feels very simple, & the Wii version feels good, but fails to simulate the resistance of the Ghost/fish like OOT does.

Another thing missing from the Genesis version & "the video game" are driving segments, if i where to add them they would be very similar to Sega cd's batman sequences
with the added bonus that players 2, 3 & 4 can control aiming sights to shoot obstacles & ghosts while player 1 controls the Ecto 1

I totally understand. The beams would no doubt be tough all around.

Here's another suggestion. What about Beavis & Butthead? I'd envision it as a simple beat em up where Beavis & Butthead use baseball bats with a boxing glove as their main melee attack and use their burps/farts as a ranged stun attack. B&B was never known for it's detailed art or animations, which would translate well into a game based off them because it's probably way easier to replicate than say, Power Rangers or TMNT. Also, there was an extremely rare Beavis & Butthead arcade beat em up that was released in 1996. Here is a video of a playthrough for some reference.

Hey, there are some really interesting ideas on this topic! Just a small and humble contribution from the top of my bony skull:
  1. Yuyu-Hakusho
  2. Hokuto no Ken
  3. Power Rangers
  4. Hero Quest
It's actually kind of staggering when you notice there seem to be no decent Hokuto no Ken or Yuyu-Hakusho beat'em ups.

⁉️💀 ⁉️

There are some old Yuyu-Hakusho Openbor games and one Hokuto no Ken by Minor
Well, we have a game based on Sentai : Special Squadron Cyberman and Power Ranges : Beats of Power.
Hey, when I said there was nothing for those guys I was thinking about official releases. I really forgot to do some search in the vault before posting here :p. These projects you have mentioned look quite amazing! I'll take some serious look at them later and search for those Yuyu-Hakusho games mentioned by kimono.

Has Hero Quest an animated serie ?
Not at all. Well, as far as I know, at least... but being a vintage tabletop with some similarities with Golden Axe/Dungeons & Dragons I thought it might possibly turn out into something interesting.

Well, seems like my old skull really needs to exercise it's creativity a little bit more

You have Yuyu Hakusho Dark tournament here with a download link:
And for Hero Quest, I like the Game Master who is on the background in the MS-DOS version but I'm not a great fan of the turn by turn system:
Another information, there are Dark Quest and recently Dark Quest 2 on PC, Switch and mobile platforms that clearly use the Hero Quest board game rules:
