Change object layer

Hi! Is a Noob question but... Is possible to change the setlayer parameter (via scripting i supose) depending of the object position in a stage? and other simple question to solve the problem, is possible to define a negative value (somehow) for z parameter of a platform? i tried it without luck, with this would not be necessary to change the setlayer parameter. thanks in advance.

Well it is doable with script but what is actually you're trying to achieve?

is possible to define a negative value (somehow) for z parameter of a platform?

Why would you need that for?

Its doable via script, for sure.

thanks Ilu, i'm designer but i'll try to make the script, i think it's necessary for object correct visualization.

I try to obtain a correct objects visualization, without setlayer property the x and y platform parameters define the layer and show a wrong visualization. One example without setlayer

and with setlayer in the same position.

thank both for the interest.

But on that case, its not a setlayer issue. Its a z position issue.
plus, I always thought that telephone cabinet is wrong on this stage. By the rules of Vanish Point, the cabinet angle needs to match the floor angle, kinda like this

Many thanks Ilu you hit the nail on the head, there was a object offset and z position problem. It was my first attempt to get a platform :) , sure! you are right in Final Fight (and other Capcom Beat 'em up games) many objects does not comply with vanishing point rules. Problem Solved! and Thanks again.
