This is a game I made for Food Jam 2017.

This game is also the first metroidvania I've made :)

The jam version is stable even though there are small typo and small bugs. I've fixed those but I wanted to implement ideas which I didn't do before due to jam time limit

The post jam version (also in same link above) has fixed typo and bugs. It has more areas to explore, more upgrades to take :), more enemies, new puzzle and two different endings

  I've made some updates on this game such as new levels, new enemies and new stuffs

I can only say that these new guys have different AI than available enemies :)

I've played a metroidvania and got a great idea to copy from that, here it is:

In order to open the blocker on the right, player must set the code on each apple correctly. Simple thing to do but finding the correct code won't be easy ;)
Now off to make more stuffs :)
 
I figured that showing image wasn't enough to show new stuffs I posted before so here's a video for them:


It shows two new enemies, updated HUD and apple code. As mentioned before, in order to open the blocker on the right, player must set the code on each apple correctly. However, to prevent player from trial n error by testing each combination, I made a checker which will punish player if the inputted code is wrong. The checker and the blocker will self destruct if the inputted code is right

BTW the code in actual game will be different than this so don't use the code in this video in the former ;D

Try go to Options > Sound Options and enable Show Titles to Yes. He always puts song and musician names every time he picks music. He gives credit to those for their work.

The code system is brilliant, Bloodbane!

Of course not. I asked a composer to make a music for metroidvania game some time ago. That project was shelved so I decided to use the music for this game instead :)
 
I really like these kind of custom projects!
I wish I could code something original like that instead of the same beat em up every body does.

This game have some 95-97 old windows games feeling.
And music is a plus!!  8)
 
Stay at the center of the field while shooting at the boss. The boss is either on left or right side so you'll be safe at the center :)

This game is a gem.
Particularly by the fact it have been done with openbor.

Just one detail : is there a way to code the music so it will not restart on every screen of a level?
I don't know if delaring the music only 1 time on the start, but not on each part of stage could fix the problem??
 
this mod has very good quality LOVE it
I know the level of difficulty is quite challenging so.. has anyone here managed to finish it? or we won't have a chance to get the sequel
