Complete collection completed games that still rock. Includes many lost games. PART 1

Project is completed.
more fixes on Contra - Locked 'N Loaded. Some of the weapons crash when shoot, and had to avoid taking these weapons. Now is fixed

Contra mod is a bit older, it hasn't worked on newer builds for a while now afaik.  It should really be left for Bloodbane to fix it himself, it's a complex mod.  it's better to release things like this as a patch instead of editing peoples mods and distributing them like this.  Bloodbane distributes the mod with an older build of openbor for a reason.

I know you are trying to help people out, but also creating a variant of his mod without his permission doesn't really help anyone in the long run.

until you wait centuries authors to fix the crashed games and make it work on new openBor to be played on different platforms, I wish you good luck and to go cry on them!
Meanwhile, I'm fixing the games to work with some recent version OpenBor.
And I dont remember, I or someone else, have asked you for opinion of what I should do, I dont know who are you and who told you, you can tell me what I "should" do or not 8) If you want to play old broken games feel free to get it from somewhere else and not trolling here.
I will be happy if author takes my fixes and engage in his game support  ;)
P.s. "Contra - Locked 'N Loaded" fixed a stuck boss level and re-uploaded. Enjoy

And I dont remember, I or someone else, have asked you for opinion

wow, hold your horses right there, buddy. This is not how things works here.

It's not the first time you get a advice about your behaviour, and now I've gave you a warning.

Please stop with this right now. One more time and you are out.

Too bad I don't have time to test your fix to Contra : Locked 'N' Loaded so I'll just assume it's  working well with newest build

Anyways, you have my gratitude for fixing my mod  ;D

Hi
I really like your work @netspider1, thanks a lot for it :)
I know you update games only to works fine with OpenBOr 3979 for Android.
If i'm fine, Android has OpenBOR updates ... and your updates are for some of them deprecated now ?

I began last month a compatibility list on Raspberry PI with Retropie, where we update OpenBOR from 3400 old version to 6315 new one :D
And i release media for all of the, creating covers, videos, logos ... a very long and hard work ... to use with EmulationStation menu. I love working on Photoshop :p
Now we can play almost all the games ... 95% ... but some have problems ... and i think maybe you can help us ?
I really don't understand OpenBOR scripts :(

- Art of Fighting Trouble in South Town: I have try your version, i read you have fix some levels, 17 19 20, i'm on 13, i will try in a few time if it change something on PI.
* I have two bugs, the first is not really important, maybe a z-index problem, during the first intro in nord pole, if i press key to skip, i can hear the menu and use it, but i can't see it :(
* On all versions of this game, i have a problem with the Stage 1 Level 7. I have play it on my PC, transfer the save game, and continue to Stage 2 Level 13 without any problem.
The problem on this Level 7 is that it is really SLOW !!! Impossible to play :( It is not a complicated level, no many enemies ... maybe some thing in the background that hit all the CPU ?

- Bare Knuckle Vacum 3.01: Befor i can only play it with the old 3400 version. Now with your fix it works fine on 6315 :D
* But i have an horrible bug, when i make a SuperMove it freeze the move and the move never end :(
I must quit the game with START.

- Bare Knuckle Vacum 4.1: Crash before your fix and now working fine too, thanks :)
* There is only a little bug to fix, all the live bars are red and we can't see our live status, and same for enemies...

- Bare Knuckle 6 TTT : This version you share is the 6.06 !!! I discover it with you and i love it ! Many improvement ...
* I have a bug when i want to see move list, i can see the phone, but the blue screen with moves is falling down and i can't see it :(

- Bare Knuckle 6 (6.02) : It was the version i have before ... the 6.01, it already working for me.

- Contra Locked v2.0 : Working perfectly.

- Rocket Viper 2 (2.41): So fantastic, this game is finally working fine with your fix and stop to crash with some scripts, thanks :D
I found a bug with Akuma, when i made a fireball in air, if the FB touch an enemy, FB will never disappear :( and continue to hit enemies...
And i play a long time with my little girl to Stage 5 Level 15, and there at a moment we are stuck because no enemies are coming :(

-- Double Dragon Reloaded v2.1.0 : I know you don't share this mod for the moment, it is in development, and fantastic :)
But it is made for old OpenBOR build 4107 or 4153. And i already ask and it will not be update for the moment :(
* First bug, when i want to use a ladder and a fence, the character disappear before climbing, and appear at the end of the ladder. Same for enemies... but i can use them. Enemies block on fence :(
* At any moment, without any LOG, the game crash and exist me to linux. Not always at the same moment, i don't really know why.
Last time i try i have the bug two time at the end of the level with Boss : Level Loaded:    'data/levels/st1/st12.txt'
I don't think it is a memory problem because i use without any problem some games really bigger...

Well okay.. Let me explain it on more time a little better.
First of all i really understand and feel your pain wanting to play my games and others. Now my answer will have two parts. Part one is about netspider1's "fixes" and part two about my game itself. So here we go:

1. As far as i'm aware, all netspider1 is doing is, when a game is crashing or a level is geting stuck, he just removes the entity or the script causing the problem. So he is not really fixing things but instead he is just removing things.
Now what's the problem with that? Well in some cases this might not be a big deal, but in a lot of cases/games this is very likely to cause other problems or crashes. And this will lead to remove more and more stuff in order to prevent further problems and so on.
Now i'm not complaining here about what netspider1 is doing. To me it's very understandable. I'm just making it clear what his "fixes" mean.

2. About my DD game specifically:
a) Just removing things is a very bad idea, since it will for sure lead to many more problems and crashes. Or in best case it will break a system in the game. Like the auto-moving when a level is complete for example. And i'm not trying to scare you guys, this is just a fact.

b) The main reason why i'm not updating my game to the latest OpenBOR build is that there are really many things changed in the OpenBOR engine since the 4153 build i'm using. And this translates to really many changes i will have to make in the game in order to be compatible with the lates OpenBOR build.
The climbing bug you pointed out is an very easy fix and originally i had implemented in the game on my try to update it. But this was just only the beginning of the problems on the newer OpenBOR builds. On my effort to make the required changes i very soon realized that there has to be too many more changes to do on many many things and scripts. And the most tedious work would have be the requirement to recode most of the "walls/holes" in the game, because if i don't, the enemies will behave very different on the latest OpenBOR build and complete ignoring the pits and fall stupidly in all the time. And belive me, in most stages this is a big problem.
And to go even further, let's say i would do this already tedious work to recode the walls/holes. This will cause to have to readjust a lot of entities on the levels as well and so on and so on..
And this is where i was think "you kno what? Just forget it with the update".

So this is mainly why i refuse to update the game for the latest OpenBOR Build and i think no one else is gonna do it as well. It is what it is and you just have to accept it as i did  :-\

Ps: By the way, a bigger game on levels or megabytes, does not necessarily mean a heavier game to run. Just saying  ;)

Really a big thanks for your answer :D

Ok, i doesn't know this before ... on the games i have try i can't see any difference ...
But if you are right for all the fix, it's bad to lost some games functions :(
And i understand it's really hard to fix them for real with the new engine.

For sure, i understand you ... i've not imagine it will be so an heavy work to update your game :(
Like i post there : https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/19432/openbor-3400-6315-game-list-compatibility/24
The best solution for us is to find a solution to compile the build 4107 on PI to play your game and other 2016 games ...
We will found a solution to have 3 or 4 OpenBOR version to make all the games working ...

Yes i know this ... but with 1Go of RAM i really think the PI has not memory problems. More a processor problem when the games are slow ... and it come from a big script that loop or a big graphical animation because we don't have OpenGL but only SDL and all is draw by the processor :(
Or an OpenBOR build version problem when some script are crashing.
The PI is an little but strong computer ;)

Thanks again to take the time to answer me :D
