In Progress Creating a TMNT mod suggestions comments ideas?

The project is currently under development.
You could just edit the sprites you intend to use a lot of is retread then you just edit them to your smart pal.

Also need your guys thoughts on Triceraton I don't know why but the tail kind of bugs me. Not really sure if I should try a different one

He looks cool but I can understand your concern with the tail maybe your could try other ones for comparison and settle on the one that works best

the tail might sit better if the skin tone was darkened w/ more contrast (maybe).

Also in other news, I have given malevka1 my WIP Mondo Gecko sheet to finish adding his shoes, he will also be adding him to MUGEN.  8)

These new sprites are really cool, it's a godsend because some of these edits I was still working on, but now I don't have too worry :).  Some I won't need because I've basically made the same thing already.  But the extended animations are what's really cool.  And the victory anims and portraits are great too.  He did a really good job!  - I've gone over these sprites a lot myself, and I know the work involved to recolour these bad boys.

One thing I neglected thou that he added.  I decided at the time not separate the belt logo from the belt.  But I regretted it later.  The only difference is mine have the extra bit added for alternate headbands.  That's pretty easy to add. 

there are some things we have in our sprites we could share, some extra frames here and there.  Running sprites (edited from bWWD's) .  I've also got unarmed sprites, with weapons holstered etc..  also made talking head sprites so turtles can talk (with moving mouth etc, like a Lucasarts game :) (still WIP!))

When I things are more complete, I'll make a sheet of all our customs, set them to aperson's smartpal and share them over at the MUGEN forums.  I'll get the running sprites done ASAP, I'm sure they will want those.

I think I still need to make some offhand attacks.  And we probably still need proper walking sprites.
 
Sounds like a plan beastie!

I have been putting off making new moves for the turtles because I've been so focused on the enemies. But I'll start on some new stuff for the turtles especially Donny. I'll upload them to the drop box as well as any stages i come up with.
 
Once I had a break from playing it for a while.  I don't feel like it's so bad anymore.  Just need a few extra moves to make the combos fit together.  But I really want to get past mucking with TMNT sprites and call it a day with them soon.  We can always go back to add a few frames later if we eventually get edits made. But for sake progress it's time to leave them be a while.  I've spent the past few months simply loading the mod, mucking about with Leo and Mikey (changing moves around etc), deciding I don't like it and starting the whole process again the next week.  ::)
 
yea man your way too hard on yourself I loved your turtles demo it just needed some fine tuning and bug fixing.

My only concern is keeping turtles similar in ability.  I don't want anyone to feel underpowered, they should be fairly equal.  And it just looks wierd that mikey and leo dual wield, but only use one arm to fight.
 
Yea I know what you mean but esn23 is right what you have so far is pretty impressive already. Also if Raph & Leo are slightly better it's not the worst thing they are usually portrayed that way anyway. Plus all the turtles are unique so if say Raph is faster and stronger than Donny its ok cuz donny makes up for it in reach.

And yea only fighting right handing just seems silly!

The sprites are from DFO

This is 80% resize, he could go smaller thou.  But I liked the idea of him being this big.

I already coded him a bit to test it in game, I can imagine him being pretty fun to use.

he still has limited attacks, but he would kinda be like the hulk or something.  Big punch moves etc. that knock enemies around.  Plus add some slams etc.

Not really, I thought he would be fine as is.  Maybe some armbands and/or legwraps.  Once I work out a palette he should fit better.

That doesn't looks like any form of Karai that I remember. As for Leatherhead, the base looks too fat. He was muscular in the comics and shows.
 
Karai isn't edited, it's a basic DFO char as an EXAMPLE (do you not understand example/likeness/concept? ) just wait and see what esn23 does, he's a master of female chars.

Seriously I don't care about perfect likeness, the idea was creating an original tmnt, like a reboot.  If you want perfect comic accuracy then don't bother following my mod.
 
Just my support message for the project man  :D

I'm not a tmnt fan, but i really like the style of the game.
So i'm not affected by the perfect likeness, i find it "badass" personally (just my opinion). 

Nice base for karai by the way.

Ironically Beastie I had some sprites for that character I've been meaning to send you after I did some DF rips but as usual your already on it nice.
