Custom Game Over

The only way I know is to create custom game over screen using text typed entities covering the screen. Will need to decide what to do in multiplayer situation.

Thanks for the response, my friend.

Mr. R (hated by this place) is helping me with a special script that consumes little memory, ideal for less powerful video consoles (ej. PSP, DreamCast, Wii)...

Query:

UPDATE.C
C:
void main(){
    void vSelf = getplayerproperty(0, "entity");
    void vSelf2 = getplayerproperty(1, "entity");
    void vSelf3 = getplayerproperty(2, "entity");
    void vSelf4 = getplayerproperty(3, "entity");
    void blackbg = loadsprite("data/sprites/continuat.gif");
    int time = openborvariant("elapsed_time");
    if (vSelf == NULL() & vSelf2 == NULL() & vSelf3 == NULL() & vSelf4 == NULL()){
        if (getglobalvar("crd") >= 1 || getglobalvar("crd2") >= 1 || getglobalvar("crd3") >= 1 || getglobalvar("crd4") >= 1){
            drawstring(122, 90, 5, "PULSE RUN");
                        drawstring(101, 110, 6, "PARA CONTINUAR");
            drawstring(87, 130, 7, "O FIN DE LA PARTIDA");
            drawsprite(blackbg, 0, 0, 5000, 0);
        if (time >= getglobalvar("elapsed_time") + 3900){
        }{
        }
    }
    }

CONTINUAR.C
C:
void main(){
    setglobalvar("elapsed_time", openborvariant("elapsed_time"));
    setglobalvar("crd", getplayerproperty(0, "credits"));
    setglobalvar("crd2", getplayerproperty(0, "credits"));
    setglobalvar("crd3", getplayerproperty(0, "credits"));
    setglobalvar("crd4", getplayerproperty(1, "credits"));
}

I'll pass this script code on to MR. R, and works on MS Windows (OpenBOR v3.0.4111), but on PSP (the latest official version of OpenBOR) or DreamCast (DreamBOR v7.3) the game crashes. Is there any possible solution for this problem?

I'm not sure what you mean by this but be careful with such statements.

support was dropped years ago, RAM is a big issue with older consoles/handhelds, they are just not powerful enough and one of the reasons support was dropped.

He's talking about Ripfire. And frankly, referring to him as "Mister R" is more annoying that just referencing him by name.

Also, on support, it wasn't necessarily a power issue. It's not like engine suddenly quit being viable on low powered consoles. It just out grew them. BOR clones are fine if that's what you want, but the days of swapping Kula with some Batman sprites and getting five pages of adulation for it are over. People expect more now, and those consoles can't run it. Not in sprites anyway. They were never designed to.

For us, it just stopped making sense. Once a console is discontinued for so long, there's just not enough justification to support it. The time to payoff ratio isn't there.

This has become especially poignant now that smart devices are a thing. Why on earth would we bother with half a dozen loud but inevitably ever shrinking console bases when one port (Android) covers the same use cases and billions more?

I understand your point, but there are players who want to watch exclusive games on favorite video consoles and I am one of them. That's why I'm working on an improved adaptation of Riot Zone : The Crest of Wolf for PSP, Wii and Dreamcast. That's why I'm asking for a little help to adapt it to that old OpenBOR engine. GREETINGS

No you don't understand if you did you would know that your "favourite console" can't do much more than the basics of Bor from 20 years ago.

This was a bit too harsh.

However...

Moderators not respecting the opinions of users. Lavalit v2.0

...This is just juvenile - and roughly 14,000 people apparently don't agree. Do it again and you're out for good. As is, I think a 10 day mute to cool off and a thread lock before things get out of hand is the best way to go.

While we're on the subject, there is a difference between expressing an opinion and just expecting special service. I laid out the practical reasons why I can't support Dreamcast or other defunct consoles, and your responses is just "Oh but I want it". I'm sorry friend, but you wanting it doesn't change reality. I've seen the DreamBOR, and even though he hasn't been too kind toward us and made up a few things as facts I still respect Ian Micheal's work. That however, is his business, not mine, and sniping at us is not going to help your cause.
