I'm shocked at Top Hat for this review, The emphasis on the way to play this game is two player baffles me, If the best way to enjoy a beat em up is two player then it's an awfully botched game.
I didn't watch his full review, does he say, that in order to enjoy Revive you need to play in coop with another player? If so I have an answer for that - coop is pretty broken and no, it does not make the game better, rather it makes it worse.
I have finished the game with a friend in local coop and we were super frustrated at platforming segments, for example. Thing is - the screen scrolling follows the front player, say if you are in the right part of the screen and push forward and your buddy is just idle standing in the left part of the screen, the screen will move with you and the standing buddy will be moved or rather pushed forward by scrolling screen. In many cases it will push the "left" player into the pit if he is not following the front player close enough, also the front player can scroll the screen so that respawning player 2 will respawn above the pit and fall into it again. The funny thing I remember - the friend was playing Marian, we were at the spiral staircase on a stage, and he was standing idle, if I ran left or right to scroll the screen, marian would be standing still but her hair were fluttering in the wind left or right, as if she was riding a bike or something

Another dumb thing - if you revive your buddy he will resurrect with around 75% of hp *each time*, like if you die a lot and be resurrected you will always have large amount of hp back. It should have been maybe less hp each time you resurrect or something, to balance things out. But because of that we were just planning who would die first (the player with less hp), so that the other one could revive, and that was our working strategy for later boss fights. So, reviving is OP, but hey it's DD "Revive" for that reason, right?
