Canceled Enter the Double Dragon (8bit style)

Project is halted prior to completion and will not receive further updates.
It will be going to take some time, as on Tuesday I will cross all the world -literally- to see my family, which I haven't seen in almost 4 years  ;)
 
I tried it is good and ticks all the checkboxes but I can't but think it is missing something? DD NES was one of the greatest beat em ups of all time, it's a pity this is more like the arcade. Maybe some single screen platforming would help?

The enemies seem a bit too aggressive. But I had fun.
 
Wow, the demo is like the full game, atleast for me, anyway, the demo is great!
The BGM is awesome!

I don't think its a bug, but when you try to kick the enemy and kick it again after 2 seconds and do that again, you can kick the enemy a lot of times without the enemy being knocked down, is that part of the game?
 
OpenBOR has a built in juggle system called Jugglepoints that will take care of this for you.

DIF, here are a quick feedback

+ The game reminds a lot of the original games, which is cool and nostalgic. Its a nice game to play.
+ The sounds, the effects, they blend very well.
+ the fonts, now with black borders, are way better to read.
- on the second stage, where you fight 2 Abobos, I could swear it would rain some big boulders. maybe it could be an idea.

Because its missing a juggle system, which prohibit this kind of things. I need to take care of this on my game too. try to knockdown the enemy near a wall and you will be able to hit him forever. or, with a good timming, use two playes to turn the enemies into ping pong balls.

This happens, for example, when you fight Jeff

Knockdown him close to the wall and you will be able to hit him forever. Plus, Jeff renders a bug: I grabbed the girl and throwed her to back and when he appears, the girl automatically go the the idle pose (the code forces it) while she was on the air.

Plus, there is another bug here: the girl appears when the door is still closed, then the door opens, appears a dude, and when the door closes again...the girl appears from the closed door again

I think you could put some random obstacles, like rocks or other things, because the fight tends to get tedious sometimes.

Overall, I think its a very coolo game, congrats.
 
Good demo!
I played it and the gameplay is very good.
I like how it feels close to the real classic game.

-During attacks, some enemies seems to be invincible (don't know if it was your intension)

-On last stage on the red room, if you hit enemies and make them fly high, they land on top of side walls.

Just give the walls a bigger altitude.

-will you add a pick up barels system just like in DD and Kunio series?
I'm pretty sure it's possible in Openbor.

The boulders are a good idea!

About those bugs on 2nd stage, I'm aware of them, in fact I described on the known bugs section on the read me file, it's just that I don't know how to solve them...

In the right wall it was supposed to be a balcony, and forgot to change the wall... Buy you are right need to fix those walls.

Yeap barrels will be available someday, along with bat, chains etc...

Edit: tried the jugglepoints stuff by putting jugglepoints 2 on the enemies and giving jugglecost 1 to the player moves... And it doesn't change anything...

Any help with this? Jugglecost is for enemy on fall animation, I don't know how to solve this.

I checked your game to see how you did then I made a bit different, to avoid that bug.

About the jugglepoints, something like 4 in your game should be enough. In fighting games, we use 15 and each move have different jugglecost (the more damage, the mode jugglecost).

Thanks, unfortunately I cannot download files at the moment, because my laptop doesn't have Internet access...

Can you help me with the gameplay issue? The infinite between kicks and punchs...
 
Sorry nsw, my laptop power source isn't working and I have all there. I have some extra stages and want to work on weapons, but in the meantime I can't.

Also hope someone can help me with the gameplay flaw.
