King of Rage

In Progress King of Rage v 0.1

The project is currently under development.
The Kisarah that appears in Neo Geo Battle coliseum has a different direction in my opinion, so I changed the Kisarah that appears in the previous game.
I feel the same here... in term of design and gameplay/animations they are 2 different characters.

-AODK have a tomboy/fighter funny but "motivated" character.
With fun and interesting moveset. I see her like a fast kicker + fast grappler. (A mix up of Judo/jujitsu + some pro wrestling references)
-> But her sprite set looks a bit strange and needed to be fixed, because she looked kind of kiddish.

-NGBC have a more feminine style, but I don't like her lazy-cool style. Ugly face, ugly haircut. Even if the official artworks are ok.
I don't like her slumped shoulders, the fact that her bag is always her weapon, or the fact that she has lost most of her grappling techniques. She has become even more generic, even though some of her animations are extremely bizarre.
She gives the impression of being nonchalant and not putting her heart into the task when she fights.
-> Only good thing is the fact she looks less kiddish

To me your work is well done because because you managed to use her best base (AODK) and giving her better proportions with some fixes.
also, her spriteset from AODK have everything that is needed for a Beat 'em up! My only "complain" is most of her animations will not be present in the game, like some special moves, some throws variations (from front, from back), OTG moves (stomps, ground grabs), dive attacks... But it's ok, because you game system have to be consistent.

If needed, I can help you later to fix the sprites you feel not perfect. Just message me, don't hesitate.

 Kisarah looks so kawa-ii~~~~~!!!

EDIT: I was only referring to the sound of the tone at the last part that goes "Cho-o-o-o-o-o-!", as in a jungle man screaming like Tarzan.

I first completed the sprite drawing for Fuma's portrait to be inserted into the game. Although she will appear later, I liked the serious expression on her original Ilist because it made her look funny. 😖

Sorry. I thought sprite design is not bad. I thought only moves are bad. Because original game kisarah don't use bag for battle.

As mentioned above, there are differences between the AODK and NGBC versions of Kisarah. The former embodies the fighting style I like, while the latter, while fluid in its movements, isn't quite what I envisioned. The fact that I went to the trouble of modifying the sprites is because I really wanted that character, and I think it was a worthwhile investment.

Personally, I'd like to say that you don't have to apologize for every single thing you didn't do wrong. Opinions will always differ, and apologizing can make you wonder, "What did I do wrong?" Don't feel too burdened.

Excellent! I hope Kim Dragon and Keith Wayne will also be in the game.
Keith Wayne is similar in scale to KOF, so you can think about it if you just modify the details, but Kim Dragon has a different design, so it seems difficult to reduce the sense of incongruity unless you make it new.

Some PI Matrimelee/Rage of the dragons have been "converted" as sprite sets by someone name "UltamanFly"
Not everything exist, but...

About Ryoko.
There is Ali's version with all required animations for Kof.
And about the sprite style, when applying a custom palette, Ryoko match pretty well with your game.
It's surprising, because bigger character/muscular characters are less "compatible" with Kof style.
Really minor edits would be enough.

If you ever decide to make her as a character I can share with you some kind of "tutorial" on how to fix her a bit to match better KOF sprite style.
Easier than your Kisarah edit. :)

Also, I really like your custom portraits...
I almost forgot about A-Shi !! <3

There's KOF style of Kim Dragon by chuchoryu for MUGEN with required animations, but a lot of his sprites are based on Ramon Garcia (who is an enemy in your game)

I checked, and it seems like the proportions need to be adjusted. Kisarah also went through a lot of modifications to become what she is now, but Ryoko's scale is different from what I expected.
