Multiverse Meltdown

In Progress Multiverse Meltdown [6.0] 6.0

No permission to download
The project is currently under development.
The campaign is using all new stages. I just raided my old copy of Streets of Rage XXX, though in hindsight I should've opened a mod that used Capcom or SNK fighters. Eh, **** it, maybe next time. Anyway, I originally planned for 4 stages but there's gonna be a few more, and there's gonna be new enemies to, from other mods I raided for them, mixed in with some old ones, and most of them are monsters.

I'll be back once I have a stage ready.  8)

Alrighty then. But I think you should give credit to the original mods and their creators.  And from the description, this campaign seems to be rather exciting. Does it have anything to do with Beast Mode?

uh, I didn't name the mods I looked into yet because I didn't want to give everything away before I even get any work done.

Nah, most of the monsters I plan to use for Beast Mode are from GBA and DS games, not much of those used in existing mods.

Ok, I've got a little to show now. Here's the first stage of what I'm calling Uniforce mode, universe and Tekken Force put together. Anyway, I mixed a bunch of enemies I already had here, and a few I got from Guardian Heroes Warpath, though most of them I decided to grab I felt would be good for bosses, and a dragon I was looking for which I ended up finding in Knights and Dragons: Eternal Quest. Didn't realize this stage here is the same level I used in Sega Brawlers' Alliance mode till after I copied it, lol. This is not meant to be a serious mod anyway. Also, random enemy spawners are being used, with most enemies having low health.

i like your characters,it will be great to see majin vegeta and goku in the roster(in hyper dimension style or Z2 style).

I don't really have a plan for DBZ characters, even then I'd go for Piccalo. I can think about it though.

i understand my friend, your characters choice is always a good surprise.

Ok, I've slowed up on my work in the past 2 weeks, though what I got here was practically done for most of this week, I just kept running into errors or missing things whenever I got around to testing it, and of course the time I took on work on Sonic Revolution. Uniforce Mode isn't done yet though, this is only the first 2 stages. I wanted to see what you guys had to say about how I designed this, plus this is practice for how plan on developing SR in the future.

As usual there will be a lot of enemies, the spawners work so that they spawn a random enemy within a second for 10 to 15 seconds, and there's usually 2 being placed at once, 3 down the road, meaning you can have more then 30 enemies once then spawners stop. If you fight well and use the freespecial right you should be able to kill most enemies in no time since most of them have 40 to 50 health, with the harder ones being at 60 to 70, though they spawn at a slower rate. There's also no waits in these stages, so you wont be stopped till you get to the end of the stage where you fight the mid bosses and move on to the boss afterward. This could be harder for certain characters then others as not all of them were made for crowd control, though I did go through both stages with Loni without dying, once, so there's that. I do recommend trying this mode a few times with different characters before giving feedback, you might get different results.

Anyway, here's the download, hope you guys enjoy it at some point lol.

Another, I was suppose to be adding a new character but I keep forgetting about him when I'm actually here at home, and for some reason it only comes to mind when I'm work, which ain't right since I have to raid my external hard drive which I don't take with me. Whenever the next update comes, there will be 2 new characters.

I like how the randomizers work. You won't even see the total number of the enemies available on any given run of the game. I do think boss flunkies could be more variegated, though. Again, Loni has the best outcome in this mode, but otherwise the ball is in the court of large characters, namely Jon Talbain and Luke Cage. The Fernandez enemies falling from the sky was nice, too. I liked how they rained down on players. This overall does remind me of Sonic Unleashed's night stages, with all the monsters storming urban environments, but twice as cool. But in the end I think the swarming will get even better with SAR's slide attack moves.

Good to know the random spawners work well, it took a while to get'em workin' right. There will be more stages though so there's a good chance you'll run into enemies you didn't see in one stage in another eventually. Boss flunkies depends on what I feel works best with the boss, the sprites are mixed enough as it is, lol.

Guess it depends on how you play.

I didn't really have Unleashed in mind when I did that though, lol. Fernandez is a bit of a special case here though, as you noticed he doesn't spawn randomly. ;)

Not a feature I plan on adding here, at least not for every character.

While I'm here, after getting the NPC menu with Sonic Revolution right, I sorta slacked off on this so the only way I could make some real progress in short time was to get all but one of the remaining stages set up, which I did last week, and all but the final are taken from SORXXX. I've started working on the bosses, and I took some shots while play testing also, 2 of them are below, copied from Guardian Heroes Warpath. Don't mind the aliens, I just didn't bother to change them.

I actually meant that due to SAR’s combat working that way, the swarms will be better there. Nice job on Mukai, and I like how he provides a bit of variety with a smaller boss.  Most of the others, especially in Uniforce mode, are pretty big. Are the rest of the game's normal enemies also being added to the randomizer spawns?

Got a bit of an update. The Uniforce mode is pretty much done, gonna play it over in case I feel the need to make any changes. 3 new characters are being added to the roster. Knuckles and Johnny Heart from Mutation Nation(only just found out about his name last month) from a mod I started in secret years ago but never released a demo of it, Heavy-D was also on that mods roster. There's also Cless from Tales of Phantasia. I know I said I was making a crossover Tales mod but that may have been an impulse decision on my part and may not be able to get as much done on that as I'd like. The mod may end up being a crossover of Tales and other characters, but there will will still be a decent amount of Tales content.

The stage Cless is in is from the PSX port of Phantasia, but don't mind the Houzers, they are just there to test the stage.
