I'm creating a new game:  Mafia Rats. About two informants of police, infiltrated in the Mafia and  discovered. As traitors, they have to escape of Mafia and of police, in order, to survive. I'm using the OpenBOR engine, Blender, Gimp and Inkscape. I have some screens and a game demo, and alpha.

Just a Update:
I made a video of the game play. I have to create all the arts. I used repository Wikimedia commons. The game is going. Who wants to correct the english dialogues, is the will. It's not my native language.

Blender + Gimp and a lot de hard work. Its easy. The worst part is edit the chars.

Nice to see 3D generated content for OpenBOR. Can you post some animation or video so we can see it in action? The models are ok (a bit dark but its me), but I would like to see the animations.

I noticed an error in the illumination light pole, especially if you compare with the red metal frame that sits on the back.

I love 30's gangster style games (although L.A. Noire bored me to tears, but I digress, lol).

Looking forward to see how this baby goes. Looks interesting. :)
 
i like the idea. it could become one amazing game. congratulations

the only thing you just change now is the gun attacks, like dash attack with guns and the special with have effects attached to main sprite, there is a proper way to do this. and is possible to achieve the result you have in mind when designed it, so just dont rush those parts and let the forum people guide you to achieve some perfect results on those details :P

i noticed also a modern car on screen, the game timeline is in the current year?

Thanks, Some things I will change... Develop solitarily is an arduous task ;- ) I have created two players. The first player uses a bladed weapon, the runattack is with a sword, the baat jam do (kung fu knife). I'll polish the anim the intro, too. And the detail, like a very modern car in a retro game. I will try to create five stages, each with two acts.

I have to study more the engine. Mainly, because has changed so much in the time that I met.

And hey, wasn't you who posted at a facebook group a 3d model where we had a long talk about Perspective? I am almost sure of that, because the issue on the arms.

let me give you an honest feedback

- Some models have a strange proportion, especially in the arms

- The animation stand has several problems (the feet are misaligned, the pose of the right arm is weird and has a few frames of animation)

- The animation of the race makes it seem like you're skating, not running. See the leg behind you, it's strange.

- I suggest you to improve the overall lighting, because there is plenty of shade on his back

- The running attack animation needs to be improved. Both the animation itself, when the collision boxes. See that he has passed the enemy but the enemy hit.

E ei, era vc que postou num grupo no facebook um modelo em 3D que tivemos uma longa conversa sobre Perspectiva? Estou quase certo disso por causa do fato com os braços.

Permita-me dar um feedback honesto:

- Alguns dos modelos possuem uma proporção estranha, especialmente nos braços

- A animação do stand tem vários problemas (os pés estão desalinhados, a pose do braço direito é estranha e tem poucos quadros de animação)

- A animação da corrida faz ele parecer que está patinando, não correndo. Veja a perna que fica para trás, ela está estranha.

- Sugiro que vc melhore a iluminação, pois há muita sombra nas costas dele

- A animação de ataque correndo precisa ser melhorada. Tanto a animação em si, quando as caixas de colisão. Veja que ele já passou pelo inimigo mas acerta o inimigo.

- O mesmo acontece com os ataques normais

- Como você está fazendo os frames do zero, acho que vc poderia colocar mais quadros na animação da queda, pois eles parecem toras de madeira caindo no chão.

- Quando a animação do ataque com corrida acerta, aparecem gráficos perdidos no ar

- Precisa rever a velocidade da animação e do personagem quando ele anda, pois ele está deslizando no chão.

- A animação do carro explodindo poderia ser melhor, ela só tem 1 quadro.

No geral, eu gosto da ideia. Mas ela precisa ser trabalhada melhor, pois tem muita coisa a ser consertada.

Yeah, so its you, as I suspected. I remember that you refuse to listen feedback and get defensive a lot until started to listen. Whenever I still see the same issues I addressed to you back that time.

I will try to cut the chit-chat to a minimum. When I told you about the feet, I mean the animation in OpenBOR, not the model. The animation is kinda "jumpy".

That is good you have a graduate in Design. So do I have in Art Direction, I work on this area for almost 20 years, but this is not the point.

Its seem me, you dont like of the project, and this changes your look
No, I have nothing aganst your project, even If I saw some errors. What I don't like is over defensive people, that take feedback as something personal, as I can see on the portuguese translation:
"I think you do not like the design and have this selective critical view. I think that is your right. Just say you did not like."

If I had simply "don't liked" your game, I won't bother wasting my time giving feedback, since I am a moderator here and I have other obligations to care about. We all are here to help each other, to give feedback, to learn with other.

As I said above, people that are over defensive about feedback are not cool, neither they are welcomed. I can clear remember of another user that were over defensive and even started to insulting people here. He (and his ggame) ended being ignored by almost everyone and he almost got banned.

So, to make it short: if you are here to grown and help with us, you are totally welcome here. Otherwise, no.

I havent intention of enter in a conflict with you or the community. Realize that I accepted the suggestions of others. But it all started on Facebook, which sounded personal (because I didnt know you and her profile on the face is quite hidden, and look me a personal attack, sorry). And I'm not hiding my identity, dont need speculate ;- ) . I'm well known in br-linux.org/Linux Community since 2001 and my facebook profile have my name. I'm also not have your Know-how in programming for Mugen or OpenBOR, because my jobs are in WxPython (in development) and i saw lots of output texts and image cuts from frames and sound me a personal attack, again, sorry.

All suggestions were noted. Including your suggestions, of course.  It's a pre-alpha project. I havent  taken a protectionist stance for a coincidence (especially in some OpenSource spaces, you know). In fact, I'm ,so much, used to people who criticize, but dont build anything (you must have this experience) so i already think that all are equal, which isnt the your case for the historical years of development and design job's, that I discovered after research..

But some things can not be molded to our taste, otherwise the world becomes a repetitive place and some bor projects dont look me nice, (very repetitive punch button, for me), others yes, so good :- ). So, Very little was shown and capturing video has lag due to Camtasia and Chars pallete bugs (i'm not good in work with GIFs like you and other members).

Back to the mod, nice intro and nice start you have with this mod!

I thought there would be more shooting after watching the video but it turns out there are more beating instead
If you want to add more shooting feature in your mod, I have main 2 suggestions:
a. Simple
Have FREESPECIAL which shoots with gun. Each shot costs MP and MP restoring items can be found everywhere
You can have another FREESPECIAL which shoots with other gun e.g shotgun or machine gun :)
b. Complex
Have alternate model for gun mode. In this mode, as name says, player only uses gun(s) and shooting is main action, no grab nor throw.
Ammo is limited and must be reloaded frequently

Whichever your choice is, we're ready to help you :)
