I forgot and wrote some new scripts in my version, mainly for enemies and I realised they are not in the version oldyz is working on so I have to correct that mistake. My version of Hong Hua will play different but I wanted to do this version for oldyz first, so you guys will get the same character but different versions of the same character but different.

Obviously the sprites. Each character performs special animation during this. One is performing the boosting (Hong Hua uses her hands to lift off the other) and the other performing boosted jump.
 
THe game have well progressed!
I like it!

Also I'm glad some content can be shared between different versions of NSX upgrades.
Instead of having 2 versions progressing slowly.

Please have you write a changelog ? Only to know what has been improved from the last version, or best from the last official game version ?
I know some of change but i'm sure i have miss some :(

if you watched the video you pretty much saw/heard the new stuff - only 2 things missing - the rest where just music sync fixes, , music loop fixes & bugs that would get a stage stuck - (there is 2 new ones tho & its the fault of how the new engine works)

the next step is to test & fuse the new characters, add the new AI stuff & maybe fix the carriage -
after that its going to be a pain in the butt, re-draw some stuff, new levels, new monsters - re-think the ai

Wow, first of all I have to say this game is amazing, great work guys, this looks on point and commercial!!

I recently found out that Reshade now supports CRT Royal : https://github.com/akgunter/crt-royale-reshade

I started using reshade + crt royal on all my openBor games, this feels like night and day, bring over the old school arcade vibe! Highly recommended :)!

oldyz  watching the videos and hearing the commenters, this popped up so I’d like to ask suggest you:
In the running stage, to make the chariot an actual boss it would be better to make some driver or someone over/inside the chariot to drop some bombs to the players, while you still need to hit it to advance to the next stage.
The chariot looks more like a car without horses and without a driver.

that is the work of Life of finale, in the march release i kept the carriage as it was, all i did for the widescreen version was to shift some numbers, of course there would have been no need to shift if there where actual horse sprites & the missing chunk.

i dont know if my next update will be able to have the horses, i am taking too long on the new AI & god knows how easy is going to be to import the new characters,
the original carriage also had less range to the exploding items, i just extended them because the carriage was not able to take up half the screen like it did before.
I like the original mechanic better , where you have to survive the stage for some time , because the carriage is deadly & so you have to avoid it & kill the wolves.

I will check it out, personally the filter i really like is the one featured by Gens or Kega emulator - i cant remember which - but it basically blurs the image using some kind of "one pixel vibration" so it keeps the image clean but at the same time give it the intended effect of creating the fake transparencies that the games where supposed to have.

using openbor the closest best 2 settings to use are simple & 16 bit bilinear, but some of the supposed fake transparency tricks that are in use don't work fully - either because the pixel spacing was scaled or the fog graphics are imcompatible with the resolution.

i miss CRT tv's there was some proggress on making actual flat-ish CRTs, but the most they came up with was a 20 inch set in japan.

the best people can do , if they have the money & space, is to find a good wide-screen rear projection HD tv for old games, i actually had one at one point & even the zapper games would work with it - it was a set that would use 3 colored canyons inside - it had svideo, component & composite inputs & could do 720 progressive widescreen - the only drawback is that those cannons had some kind of liquid that gets cloudy after 5 years or so & the image becomes blurry - but the liquid can always get replaced.

Projector won't be an option for me as this is running in an arcade cabinet. What I like about crt royal is it keeps the crispness of the image without blurring,  for me it works and reminds me of the old arcade cabinets.

All the game is now in 16/9, it is strange to have some screens un 4/3. I only miss the game intro, maybe later ;)
