Art Pixels from Moi!

The thread is some time of visual artwork like sketch, painting, or sprite work.

Here is a selection of pixel and sprite work I have made and am willing to show off. A number of these have been made over the years, and a lot is done in my habit of using the Sega Genesis palette I picked up about six or so years ago. (though not all of them are)

Cassportrait-G.png

Figured I'd show this one because I made both a sprite AND a portrait for him, just to show both skills.

All of the above connect to a beat em up idea I had floating around in my head for almost a couple of years now. The last two are more of a mock/experimentation as likely made obvious by them being modified from an obvious source.

Hallway3.png

A hallway.

Jreddsurfin.png

Pixel Art of a very good friend of mine. Like everything shown, so far, it was made with the Genesis palette (though likely does not fit the on screen limit as far as I am aware. Correct me if I am wrong)

portraits-RANDOM.png

A random selection of portraits using the Genesis palette.

buildingfloor.png

Building floor, as filename suggests. :P

castsf.png

Cast of another beat em up idea floating around in my head.

cityview.png

Rather old, also not made with the genesis palette.

Some more sprites and pixels.

Nprin.png

A Sega classic, done in the style of another sega classic.
ninalt.png

Alternate palette.

saloon.png

A Saloon.

nightloon.png
nightloon2.png

Two Night Time variants.

hallwaything.png

Another hallway.

ikeintro.png
attemptron.png

Two intro graphic concepts I did to go along with idea for beat em up intro.

syndicateposter.png

One of the things I did not using the genesis palette.

silbingclrs.png

Made these separately years back, more recently revamped the palette.

photographs.png

Characters from one of my game ideas.

Monica.png

One of the characters from above represented here. Ignore (or don't) the text thing on the bottom. Was merely made for testing/conceptual purposes.

uptosky.png

From same series, another character.

Cassbigsprite.png

Another version of character from first post. Bigger and no genesis palette this time.

eriesprite.png

Character you may or may not recognize that never saw the light of day.
altpallette.png

Alternate palette.

bellasprite3.png
BellaZan.png

Fan character. Portrait not made with genesis palette.

I recognize the one who never saw the light of day! But not the Classic in the style of another classic.

CosmoBuggi: Congratulations for these nice sprites! The ninja princess (and its modern version?) are nicely done.
I think you don't need to restrain yourself to the Genesis palette unless you plan to release your project on this game console.
I don't know if the character of the main post is a male or female? Maybye you should reshape his/her body.
Milly could have her arms in front of her to adopt a wrestling attitude and have a more stable idle pose.

Keep up the good work ;)

kimono Thanks for the kind comments. And I don't feel a need to restrict myself to it, it is more of a habit I picked up at some point and it works somewhat reasonably well, but I do intend to, and I have used higher palettes in the past. I am wanting to upgrade for sure.

If you mean the first character I ever posted, it's a young boy, though the second sprite I made of him made him look older.

As for Milly, I actually have done a newer sprite of her, but her sprite is placed in with another sprite, and I have references I used that would make it incredibly messy, so I am going to need to set up for that one.

Again, thanks for the comments. I saw your stuff early on coming here, and your work is nice as well, but I will probably take time to take a closer look and comment on them myself. Your post did partially inspire me to post my own, so yeah. :)
