Pocket Dimensional Clash 2

Complete Pocket Dimensional Clash 2 2.3

Project is completed.
Yeah the enemies definitely have a better reach than the characters. Also when I picked Reayon, the announcer didn't seem to say her name like they did with Captain Commando. I didn't try Blink yet so I don't know if the same happens for her.

This was a surprisingly fun demo though and not too difficult either which is always nice :) I love the concept and with a nicely sized cast of characters from different universes, this could shape up to be pretty awesome!

Another great job Illusionista :)

Thanks for the feedbacks :)

Thanks for the release! Blink is really cool to play with! And I enjoy seeing Captain Commando completed as well. :D

However, I have some concerns about the dimensions. These ares very large for these kinda tiny chars. Sometimes I have a little feeling of void. But I think this feeling comes in good part from the too short reaches of the chars (but it requires to modify the sprites to grow the fist and maybe enlarge the arm), because they are shorter than the enemies' ones. To a lesser extent, I also regret the length of special attacks, except Blink's ones.
In another vein, I can remark that the reply at the start of the level is too short to be read (at less to me ^^').

Besides that, I like the idea of a scenario that makes us travel through different universes! Lastly, just a question : do you use the exact color palette of NES ?

Yes, Blink is my favorite too :)

Screen size - I got your point and you are right in some aspects. But I left it that size because:
1- The default size doesn't looks good in smartphones
2- I like to have more room to walk and fight

Reach - The enemies doesn't have greater reaches, they have the same reach from the playable chars. They just like to attack from a greater distance (this was intentional, to make them attack before the player is too close and already attacking). About to grow the arms (like in Gals Panic), I don't like it too much.

I plan to extend some moves reach and I will change the way long ranged (like Blink's shard throw) works - they will cost power to use. Or you can just spam it till the end. So some moves like Blink' shard, Ryu's hadouken (playable) and so on. Captain Fire will not require power, since its a middle range move.

Palette - No, its just to remind the NES palette, not to emulate it.

I never thought to make the announcer say all the names (and that voice comes from the original arcade game), but its somehting I can work on, thanks for the idea.

This was a surprisingly fun demo though and not too difficult either which is always nice
The older demo was way hard, so I toned it down because its the first stage only.

About reaches, I've checked with Captain Commando and sometimes enemies were able to touch me while I wasn't touch them. So I can explain that only by a difference between the reaches. And about the graphic aspect, the male enemies do have a longer arm as Captain Commando's. Thus I wonder if you made Captain Commando from another model than a character from Neo Geo Pocket's fighting games.

Yes, Captain Commando was made from the scratch.

This game looks and plays great! I love how you set up the controls by default, to avoid the super-annoying spread-out buttons default. I love all the little touches, like enemies crawling from behind pillars, little eyes appearing on burned enemies, etc. But there's one question; the girl running out to talk to the master gave me the impression she would be some kind of miniboss, but instead, she's just a grunt and one other spawns immediately after. Just a quibble, but still.

When Blink first spawns on the stage she also has a Captain Commando looking sprites in her animation I think, like the block gitch.

Looking pretty cool, should be fun to see what you can do with the finished product.

Please, do it. I don't have a PSP to test it. And, if you could, test the Avengers United Battle Force too.

Thanks everyone. I plan to update this game this year.
