i have to try and challenge myself in order to learn new things when making games for this engine, I don't want to delve too much on the situation during development because soon the frustration from it will end up as a liability.

That's the spirit :D

BTW if you're willing to, you could make simpler arena such as flat level without ring nor stage in the middle. That could reduce your work and let you focus on slam/throw ;)

Hmmm, I never thought about using flat levels for this project, but I'll see what i can do Bloodbane. :)

I think he said not to create a ring like some actual plateform you have to climb on and create alternate ropes etc.

So, if you keep the ring level you show in the video, it's OK. (its a flat level)

Good evening everyone, man last month and the beginning of this month has been slow for me due to the fact I have deal with cut hours from my day job and I am struggling to bring money in the house to pay bills. However, that's not going to stop me from showing you the preview of the next two game modes for this mod. The tag team test gameplay shows the player being partnered with a NPC to combat two CPU controlled opponents, while the cage match test gameplay pits the player against an opponent in a bloody death match inside the steel cage. I will update on more previews of this wrestling mod, so you guys enjoy yourselves with this test gameplay and let me know what you think!  :)

Your game looks great, particularly about visual stuff.

It kind of makes me jealous to see how it progresses fast compared to mine.
I'm slowly thinking about using the same background as you, since mine is hard to code with ring, and don't have animated audience.

Anyway, looks good, but I'm not sure the game give a wrestling feeling.
Because most characters are not wrestlers, and they use really few slams.
But I'm sure it's a beggining. :)

Thanks Ned, it may not be much, but sometimes i take the time to think accordingly when i add more content to this mod. And i can also sympathize at the fact that you're still struggling with coming up with ideas to make your World Arena project work, but we do what we can to get things done though.

But on the bright side, i'll be sure to add more slam animations to Ryan and the other wrestling characters in the next update, so stay tuned!

Sorry to have kept you guys waiting, and wow it has been a while since I last posted due to my busy work schedule at West County Mall. But anyway, what matters is that I am here to show off another preview of Real Bout Pro Wrestling with the Great Budo and Biff Slamovich performing their special moves and grappling techniques in the death match stage which is also shown in this video. Their grappling moves are not that good, but at least I am trying best to animated them better. So enjoy this preview and let me know what you guys think.

Yes, some more progress!
Try to follow and understand the custom slams mannual I send to you as much as possible. It's the key to have good slams for your game!
Also, if it's a death match, the fire should be active, right?

Anyway, keep it up!
By my way, I'm still struggling to find some time to code my mod.

Sometimes, I hate myself for imaginating really complex special moves/slams, because they're almost not possible to release unless I put a lot of censecutive hours on it...
The good thing about your project is if you keep moves a la ring of destruction/slam masters, they're not so complicated to code ! ^^
Good luck, buddy!

I liked the idea a lot, but the execution needs work. There is an issue with his grabs (you can see it at 0:10 in the video above)
The grabbed player needs to be bound to the attacker,  because he is supposed to be grabbed by the attacker.

Thanks for the feedback O'Illusionista, I understand that I need to fix some oni's grappling techniques as well as Tyson's (Biff) grappling moves, but I'll be sure to keep that in mind next time when I work on my project.

Good evening guys, I have another update for you, now I know that I am still working on my wrestling project and I am also replacing several characters as well (I discarded Pierwolf's version of Ray from Fighter's History from the characters folder of my mod to make my own version.). But I going to show you guys the intro of Real Bout Pro Wrestling for everyone to see, let me know what think!

Good morning everyone, I know that this message is going to be sudden, but I am putting this wrestling fan game on hiatus for a while. It's not that I am being lazy or anything, but I been very busy lately trying to balance working at the mall and continuing to work more on my Real Bout Pro Wrestling project. And on top of that, my attempt to make changes and to re-release two of my mods that I worked on previously (Tides Before the Tragedy, Dungeon Magic) and me struggling to pay the bills in my house has caused me to lose the motivation to work on my wrestling project. I know you guys will be disappointed, but please bare with me on this one. Until I get everything in my life situated and start reading the rest of openbor tutorial on the rest of the slams techniques (Brainbuster, Backbreaker, DDT, etc.) more carefully thanks to the advice of Crimsondeath, maybe i'll be able to work on Real Bout Pro Wrestling once again.

You're right Damon Caskey, things in real life like work, paying bills, helping my mother out while taking care of my own house, does come first and it's always best if I overcome these obstacles now instead of later because soon waiting for life situation or crisis to pass by as if nothing happened is just going make things worse for me or anyone else in the long run.

However, I will let you guys know about my motivational comeback of continuing to work on the Real Bout Pro Wrestling fan game, because this project is not quite dead just yet! 8)

Don't worry buddy.
I understand!
I used to work almost full time on my project around 2009-2010, but with time, I have less and less time to do it.
I hate this idea I can work just few days in a year on it, but yes, this is life.

What I hate the most, is I have the skills to help so much people here with spriting, slams coding, editing etc. but my time is so limited.
Just like some people here with incredible skills could help me "boosting/unlock" my game once for all from this hiatus, but all of them are too busy.

It's a hobby, the games of our dreams will progress anyway... After IRL.
I don't think I will give up, even if right now I'm sure it will take me at least 7-8 more years to complete my 1st game.  :D

Good morning everyone, I know that I had to cut back on this project because I had to finish the first update of Knights of the Round Annihilation. But during that time I made a big overhaul of this wrestling project and instead of using Saturday Night Slam Masters characters, I decided use the playable and mid boss characters from Pierwolf's Fighter's History Revenge mod (and giving him credit while doing so.) for this fan game. Now I am throwing in gameplay video and a downloadable link for the demo if anyone in this forum is interested playing it or in adding characters to Real Bout Pro Wrestling project. Without further or due, I hope that you enjoy the progress I gotten on this game and let me know what you think.

Here's the link to download the game:

Nice  Jeremiah Cuff!

I like the part where they actually wrestle - well, slam each other around. Close enough. Adding "real" wrestling mechanics would be nice, but just having well animated and brutal looking slams is the main thing and these look pretty good. Interesting touch using music from HCTP. Just add some ring based moves and flesh things out a bit and I think you've really got something here. :D

even if it's "just" characters from FHR, at least you did it.
This is a playable game with good moves and good characters.
If you feel motivated, you can do any of these changes (3 kind of possible evolution)

-hard : adding new characters
-not so hard : editing existing characters by replacing sprites etc
-easy : doing headswap + color swap (or just color swap) + voices edit

I would not recommand you to engage in adding wrestling mechanics.
Unless you're motivated enough and have time to learn advanced scripting/coding.
(I personally gave up inplementing it in my game very early when I saw how hard it would be to do it.)

You did what I did not : making a game with wrestling theme, playable, stable and also visually pretty good!

Thanks guys, it really took me a long while to figure how to work this project until it hit me, I figured if I add existing characters from different fan games like Fighter's History Revenge for example, i would be able to make this happen. I kept quiet about the new changes for the game, but then decided to show what it all to the world when the time was right.  :)

Here is my playthrough of the demo with Blake in all modes bro:

Loving this game, can't wait to see all the other different wrestling moves you'll be able to pull off!!  The only thing I could find wrong was that there wasn't a move list, other than that your off to a great start bro I can't wait to see the next updates!!
