Rushing Beat X Return of the Brawl Brothers

I have mixed feelings about this news.

+ I love Rushing Beat and sincerely believe it never got the attention it deserved. With a bit more advertising and luck, it could have turned into a flourishing franchise. Heck even on OpenBOR, I never found too many projects on Rushing Beat.

+ I'm also convinced the fanbase of Rushing Beat shouldn't be underestimated, it's been years loyal fans are craving for a sequel,

- on the others hand, the current trailer is indeed distasteful. To put it bluntly it looks like one of those bad Saturn beat'em ups with 3D model. I apologize for being harsh.

- basically following the release of Streets of Rage 4 and Mayhem Brawler - wich were a commercial success - watching a trailer like this doesn't inspire faith,

However, since this game is to be released on 2024 at best, I sincerely hope the developers with work harder to flesh out the scenery and the character models.

I agree with everyone, it does look awful. On the other hand, at least it's not yet another chibi combo clone. I saw some nice grappling and the hits actually seemed to have a little weight behind them. Still shovelware, but... there's a tiny bit of potential here. Maybe.

I honestly would do prefer another chibi clone rather this asset flip look.

ok, I know the series has never been known for its quality - I always thought the first game was horrible, which got better in the following games), but I thought this was terrible.

And how can we forget the American cover of the first game? LOL
Ah, the craze for everything to seem radical in America in the 90s...

That cover was hilarious. Poor shmucks, I wouldn't like their chances against a modern influencer (be a good fight though).

I was dumb enough to rent it from a video store anyway back in the day. The first stage had a nice track and... and... yeah that's it. Everything else sucked.

I agree with the game quality shown in the trailer above. It looks so basic, Toxic Crusaders and GI Joe looks way better than this.

Yep.

There are 2 positive things I noticed in the trailer:
1. Kahlua, new playable character. She appear to be non grappler.
2. M-Frame, shown near end of trailer. I really wonder how this character would appear there cause in Rushing Beat Shura, there are some requirements to unlock it.

Rushing Beat has never been on both Streets Of Rage or Final Fight's level. I don't like the color scheme.

There is at least a juggle system so at least it's not stuck in 1993 with some gimmicks unlike the rest of what's new out there.

Well it looks very ROUGH but like DC said there's a tiny bit of potential so hopefully the developers had the time to cleaned up the animations and fleshed out the combat system... 2024 is already crowded within the first three months with RPGs and Fighters.

I looked up the website and find a bit more information about it. The game takes place between 2nd and 3rd titles so hopefully we might see the Shura cast like Dick and Elfin in some capacity.

The first game was still the best option to play a 2 player game in the vein of final fight at the time, as final fight failed miserably in that. So I enjoyed the game a lot back in the day, while it feels very dated now.

I think Peacekeepers had the most potential but it needs a bit more polishing. May be more grabs and slams. Pirates Of Dark Water would be something I can play more and come back to from time to time.

I have heard of this game before. I have to wonder why the enemies walk like zombies, as if they were saying "yeah whatever".
