Port to Xbox

Sorry guys hopefully this is my last question but how do I port my game over to Xbox? My Xbox is modded so it can play all types of roms would I be able to somehow turn into a playable Dreamcast or genesis game and port it over that way? Also what about the full screen I need to play using full screen.

No worries about asking questions - that's the whole point of this forum. That said, the answer is: You don't.

IIRC there was an ancient X-box port of the original Beats of Rage, but not OpenBOR. If there was one, it's so out of date by now you might as well not bother because no modules made in the last decade would play on it.

I mean no offense, but the idea of turning an OpenBOR game into Genesis or Dreamcast so it runs on X-Box is so fantastically unworkable I wouldn't even know where to begin explaining why you can't do that.

Sorry friend, if you want to play OpenBOR modules, you have the use the platforms it's meant for.

Lol my Xbox has very special features that actually may allow it to work interms of porting it over their if there’s no way rip what if I took a rom and added in my own chars would that be better?

the only problem you face with this method is that your options are limited to the games that only the Dreamcast could handle and the beats of rage that only the dreamcast could handle, & they might run slow, because you are doing an Emu-ception - like the one time i tested Openbor inside a wii inside a PC.

also , what Xbox are we talking about, the First one? or the modern one? if its the modern one you would need to find someone to develop an openbor version for it (like the wii verison) or develop a Java openbor that could run on a browser so you canuse it on the edge browser- both of these paths require you to develop , trouble shoot & maintain such "branches " of openbor.
or yo could try to run Android on the xbone & use the APK openbor

same goes for the OG xbox, you need to find someone who could program a newer openbor for Xbox from scratch, it is weird that the wii version got more development, since the Xbox & the Xbox 360 are very hackable too....

Yes og xbox and oh makes sense the dream cast couldn’t handle it

yes the problem with the dreamcast is - I think, about the same as the wii, RAM - you got the advantage that emulation can expand the RAM & other things of a virtual dreamcast, but that is something that would have to be developed & tested.
maybe an OG xbox openbor should theorically should work better than a wii openbor, but there maybe a very good reason why such project never took off.

xbox is a curious case, there where lots of custom programs ,& emulators & such for it, but everything stopped kinda suddenly, unlike the wii where you still see a lot of development. Altho it is a bit confusing, now that i think about it , the wii was competitor to xbox 360, the competitor to xbox was the gamecube.
was the wii more powerful than the OG xbox?

Edit:

"Well, the verdict is that the Wii has more processing speed than the original Xbox and can allocate more memory with its 24 Mib internal programmable memory whereas the original Xbox had only 64 Mib memory to play around with. The problem with the Xbox’s Power P.C setup was the fact that even though it clocked at higher speeds than the G.C. it was far less efficient to work round with, it would take a considerable amount of time and resources to actually understand the working architecture, so a game as fluid and beautiful as Ninja gaiden took a long time in the development room."

got around to looking at comparisons, so it seems that the limitations are RAM, for all the other powerful features the consoles present, openbor for those consoles would have to be developed with lots of trickery to get around RAM issues

The Dreamcast has an updated version of last dreamcast openbor port, its called dreambor and its optmized to have a better performance on Dreamcast. With Dreambor is possible to play or port some games that wasnt playable before on the Dreamcast. A coder named Ian Michael is working hard to make Dreambor a good way to make games for Dreamcast or even play some openbor games, some games need a lot of rework to become playable, but openbor is alive on Dreamcast. Btw, iam creating a original game for Dreamcast using Dreambor, but manage the 16 mb ram is really hard.
