CROM The Game!

The year is 2012  and a rogue group of evil scum has surfaced to take over the world. Led by a mysterious figure and backed by wealthy underworld sydicates they plan to take over the world. They have made their presence known throughout the world taking over small and large countries areas and have established themselves in various locations across the globe. The world is under threat and a secret call goes out and only the C.R.O.M. Brotherhood and friends answers the call. Each member gifted with unique skills and abilities  have come together to take on this vile threat. Who is this mysterious leader that strikes fear upon the world ? Who can stop them? Only the C.R.O.M can! When you mess with one you mess with all of The C.R.O.M. Brotherhood! Suit up, gear up and fight on! Hail C.R.O.M.!

Basic combo moves ( series of punches and kicks  or how you want your character combo to look but must contain first button press hit frame and combo chaing frames when p1 makes contact only with p2 to start chaining the combo moves. 5 to 6 hit combo sequence)

Another feature i want to have implemented in the game is 1 players is player 1 and can pick an AI partner to tag along  with each being able to select 1 booster character per person. So you will pick a Booster character for yourself and your AI partners Booster as well.

Will be posting some of the various Playable characters that are made so far in sprites and Booster Characters as well with who is actually who. i will be working on 2 playable characters and 3 booster characters and sprite some enemies as i go. Anyone who wants to help out making enemy characters hit me up.

here is so far the details in who so far has their basic look of there characters for the game. Playable characters and Boosters characters.
So far playable characters in simple sprites forms ( non animated till in game videos and as well screenshots will be in the works as it all gets into that phase)

we have a few that are being considered as well cause there be some character like myself and Supa who have vehicles and NX men with his car that will have a playable version on them for the ground mini level to play as on them. we have 2 spots left for vehicles and such and one is for Atlas cavern of Creativity and another is for Here at Chrono Crash. not sure who is gonna want what but one is up for grabs which is a edited  Gundam to represent the site . we need at least 5 vehicles to choose from for these special levels. A sky level for aircrafts and a ground level for ground vehicles. Each site gets its own admins vehicle then others are chosen vehicles from folks.

Concept about him:
he is the right hand man of General Ragnar and learned a lot from him but doesnt like to use Guns. He loves his Shield as his primary weapon.  he also throws daggers, does a rush charge with his shield across the screen at players and throw it too.  I have a few cool moves in mind for him as specials and i could use an idea for a  good big damage move.  So i will take ideas for these too.

Stage boss - Captain Ragnar:

concept about him :
He is the leader of this group based in Norway and resides on a base. his name means "Strong Army" as well.  I wanted him to be much bigger in size and a bit more menacing and have that buff build. So i like the base choice very much. i am gonna add some more things on him ( and more details a bit and shade fixes with them)  like some kind of grenades on his belt cause he will toss those around as well that huge gun actually transforms from a small gun to this gun that can shoot 2 different kinds of things. a flamethrower and  energy blasts .  i will def need a cool voice actor for the guy for when he does some of these things and more , add some comedy in it too. if anyone got any cool ideas for some dialog post them up . maybe about 7 good lines for:

taunt
shooting flamethrower
tossing grenades
his rush strong punch
when he swings his gun
his power move he shoots with an even bigger gun and fires spread shots
some lines for intros before the fight.

appreciate any ideas with this guys.

i am doing as much as i can personally to get the main title screen, Select screen and lifebars /gauges designs done as well. these are for now the placeholder concept i retooled and shall now be redoing over since i have gotten better at designing custom stuff myself. these were bars are based off of an old design for my ABR ( Anime Battle Royal ) mugen project being done by yours truly members of the Crom Interactive and friends contributing.

there is still much more content being thought up, done and added as long as all the things and features i want in are doable then they will be on the board to get finished.  Some things are gonna be updated as well that have been shown so no worries. lol.
Looking forward to what here has to offer in ideas, helps /advices and even some participation in the project as Boosters. Any questions of anything oi didnt list please ask. appreciate it and thanx again for welcoming me here and this all original game to be done with a  short demo to try to be up sometime in 2014.

Sup o illu. Lol. Well the only sprites that ate of kof styles which will get some shade fixes are supa, doom and mon el. As i stated there will be updated fixes to many things.  8). Cool to see you here O. Thanx man.

no not yet. sometime before the demo comes out will show quite a few tho and some screenshots. still workin out updated stuff and as well the select screen and all. Learning the fundamental of the engine itself to put things in. takin my time to learn and do some cool work thats needed first then go ahead and show whats been put in. Lots to learn indeed. lol

thanx. nahh i didnt do all of them. most the guys contributing are doing theirs themselves. i am either doing some folks ( guys that dont sprite mostly) and others i will help with editing and clean up work if needed.  Like with Supa edit i just edited the top half to more a capcom kinda but still has to finish the bottom. he will be doing his own character and cleaning up the spots to make it more streamline as well as the other folks like Doom booster is done in sheet and he may either redo the sprite or just some editing shading style work. same with mon els. I should in time for the demo have at least 4 playable characters and 5 boosters for area effect  damage ready and a few icon boosters which deal out either energy build up for the main health bar and others for the booster energy gauge build up as well to replenish either full or partial health. certain ones do certain energy increase for either the power or the booster gauge. :) .

Dont worry, man. There will be changes with shading. I don't like mixing SNK style sprites with Capcom's too. The graphics style for this project will mostly be in CVS/MVC style.
 
Ah finally you posted here Lando :)

Nice concept there, are these character sprites still in WIP or you have complete sprite set for them?

BTW what background you are going to use? ripped from game or made from scratch?
 
Sup Bloodbane bro! yeah i finally got in here lol .
well all the playables so far are all still in wip status as i am working on other projects too. Some of the boosters already have their sheet done. I will get the first round of playables done for the demo to actually do the test run of the game and see how things flow from there on what we can actually do if what i have on the board is indeed doable.  My character and 3 to 4 others should be done by demo time and will be testing it all out before i release that for folks to try out. I am a firm believer in testing everything before letting stuff out. That decreases bug and error issues so feedback will be more focused on the gameplay and fun of the game and same as my other major  wips.

As for the Bg /stages and stuff i want to use both rips from things in set pieces and i always try to do scratch stuff as well. I like to create new scenery more than anything than using already made  whole stages from games. I am a busy old guy in real life so i try to do much as can for the mean time while i am not as busy at the moment. lol. Hey when the demo of the game is ready to be tested out before releasing it i hope you would like to be on as a tester for me Bloodbane bro if can when time comes. :).  My good bro  maxman already is on deck for that as well and helpin me learn the basics stuff in starting certain things up . so i will be trying those out sometime after all the holidays is over and with what i get done to get it rolling better. 8)

So far for stages for the project i have 3 already jotted down to be made with one already having the final level board done.

1. Norway stage
2.Monster Island stage ( a stage full of nothing but monsters and zombies)
3. BDC stage which is a building full of nerds ( at his request lol) and  battle 3 floors till you fight against BDC himself

In my own words i'd say...big enuff or just the right size we want it to be. lol. I posted tho how many stages it is up top. thats not including the Sky level stage for flying vehicles and the ground stage for automobile vehicles.
 
Some good edits, but now when i know how most sprites look like i can recognize bases immediately and i would avoice against using unmodified kyo poses and stuff like this when editing cause its just gives away too much if you use signature pose of some well known characters when making completely new edits.

i def agree with you . i plan to  change up my sprite stance ( i am a kyo base edit lol)  and modify it to use for some of the style punches and kick combo i want to do . I will def have to make sure to modify him cause the sprite will have a real forward walk animation thats not like Kyo's, but i might use his run animation.  I want to stray away from using  too much to any if can of his signature moves as i do shoot a gun and other specials and a melee move .  Kinda Like my mugen wip Trashcan Larry i have , he starts off in looks to be one kind of edit but i have been adding elements of other characters and modifying them to be of sorts his own moves. So thats pretty much the testing ground for doing more changeups for some of the characters i will be handling myself. i am not against using something i like thats cool but def try my best to modify it to looks a lil more original. Thanx for the good advice , appreciate that a lot.
 
I like the reduced colours look of the sprite in your profile. Only 2-3 shades but not like capcom style.  I prefer darker palette's like this too.

do you think you have patience to make full "characters" of these single sprites?
 
I see IMT and Crusader Cast. Are there going to be more M.U.G.E.N. teams supporting you guys?

@ Beastie, actually that sprite in my profile is all HD. just shrunken down for my profile. its an original character for my daughters book she is writing. Its her main character of the story. She made her first from a contest she won for a writting class but then decided to make a full novel on her. Since i sprite i made a mvc version based on what my daughter told me she wanted her to look like. but then later i did a total recreation of her and with my daughters input ideas. Later she will be a fully made character for a game, but not for any hobby format.

@ Nedflanderse.  thanx bro! yeah i always hear and well read about bases being overused in mugen and well anything, i am an old school dude and gamer, to me you use whatever works with whatever your aiming for in these hobbies.  Having patience isnt the same as having time to do them either.  I have the patience to complete characters for both my bor and mugen projects, but with time frame to do things, full time dad, workin, kids and even my recent health was a concern with having surgery done, put me out for quite awhile, so i have RL to deal with first, then free time on these Mugen/Bor things. But rest assured bro.. these single sprites shown shall be full on playable characters for this game only. :)

@ Uche..  matter a fact there is one other and thats ATLAS.  most the teams seen in this project are where as well alot of us Crom members come from and frequent throughout the years and been cool with a lot of the very good folks at those places.  For example, i actually joined MFG before any other site in mugen , but my main home is always IMT. Like others in the crew come from CC , Lavalit , Atlas and IMT. I go to other places like Mffa  and other places and many others do the same.  We are all from everywhere. lol  So far its looking to only be IMT, CC, Atlas, Crom Interactive and i was hoping maybe here would like to be in as well for a vehicle part of the game in the sky stage to play as. Only the Crom Interactive crew are the playable characters with other sites teams being those Booster droppers Vehicles, Booster area effect characters and Booster icons for health or life energy replenishings.
If any site main folks want to be in on the game i dont have an issue with any other Teams being represented. For 13 years me being in mugen i always wanted to see a "unity" between everywhere and represented.  I only do so in this game with permissions. But for me, that would be the one major thing i would like to see done to the hobbyist community before i retire from all this in some years.
