Double Dragon Revive

A new 3d Double Dragon beat-em up by Arc System Works and is being handled by Yuke's

Any thoughts on this one?

Just seen this posted its a full playthrough of the game and it looks awful. Im so glad i didnt pre order it. Just from the trailers i knew it would be bad hahaha (Spoilers Obviously)
Modern games trailers are very skilled to give the illusion of "quality"
I just looked at how was the interaction in trailers and felt like. "Ok, it will be one more crap pretendign to be good"

Wow this looks terrible.

Knew it would be bad from the trailers - I disagree with @NED. Modern trailers are NOT good at concealing anything. I think it's painfully obvious 10 seconds in when any new media coming along is trash. Didn't think it was THIS bad though. I mean wow, they really went hard to the dumpster didn't they? Was Wander of The Dragons not quite awful enough?

It's hard to believe this is Arc Systems publishing. Their style isn't usually my cup of tea, but objectively speaking they normally push quality stuff. The developer (Yuke's) has a decent pedigree too.

Yeah I know what you mean.
I think I didn't expressed well.
Of course you can see in the trailer that a game is bad.
But the show nice looking artworks and video montage effects etc to get your attention out of the actual ugly/poor gameplay.

But sometimes it works very bad.
To me the total fail is Rushing Beat remake (whatever it's name).
It's impossible not to see a bad game.

Hope my english is understandable. ^^

The game looks like a big asset flip

I think it's time we started treating Unity the way people treat Mugen and OpenBOR when they see bad work and associate it with the engine.

Because I've seen much better work done in OpenBOR, for example.
It's in Unreal Engine 5 though... so yeah, not fair to give Unity alone a bad rap, when Unreal has put out a bunch of shovelware games as well.
I know coz I have ripped the models from the game.

But back to the game, I guess I just have trashy taste, but I have been enjoying the game, its no Sifu or Spirit Strike, but I don't hate it.

My main point there that I keep hearing things like that towards OpenBOR, as it wasn't a capable engine because there are some bad game, while Unity is kinda "Protected" from this behaviour. Some people think we are "second class" coders because we use an enigne that is not that big.

I have just completed the game with a friend, took us ~4.5 hours to beat.
This is probably the worst beat'em up game I've seen in years. Gameplay is just terrible, fighting mechanics are scarce and game is also quite repetitive. Verdict: avoid.
wow so its worse than I expect. I got Karate Kid few weeks ago and my gosh... its so boring.

@DCurrent i did see a funny comment somewere on that playthrough video i posted saying they would have been better off just remaking Wander of The Dragons HAHAHA. He was clearly joking just goes to show how terrible this game really is.

There are actually people who seriously compare two engines that are over 20 years old, mostly used for amateur projects where self-proclaimed devs copy and paste sprites from popular games, with engines used for titles on the level of Hollow Knight or Final Fantasy VII? My god…

I'm getting the game later today physically so I'm sort of looking forward to it lol Hell I have played worst beat'em ups so I can deal with mediocrity...

Lord helped me lol
