Hey cool style, i like that, i like that you dont have too much white and black, thats beginners pixel artists virus.
Any videos? Would be great to have some your own fonts, its not hard to do them so im sure yo would do it in no time and it would look even more polished.Anything that is leftover from previous mod should be replaced if youre going with original sprites IMO.

OK i played it to the end and i like it a lot, many different throws/grabattacks and humour, it would be great it enemies would have death animations, for example if you cut their belts off then their pants would go down and they would cry or something , or any different death animations with humour, i could use running animation or maybe faster walk.I like final boss and his attack with weapon stuck in the ground.I see you have well planned out project and it will only get better.Congrats! I turned my childhood dreams into short games as well.

I think that some objects are difficult to hit because of offset position. even the white hand for level end.
During the spining blade, there is a way with script to guide the character. It would be a good addition.

For some reason, this game reminds me of the European scene of Amiga games, back in time...

Something I've noticed in your last video: the walk animation speed is wrong. The hero should move his legs way faster, or it looks like he is sliding.
 
My tip for font editing is that font sheet's size defines the font's size. For instance, if the sheet's size is 160x144 in pixels, the font size is 10x9 in pixels (160/16 x 144/16)
 
I played a few games with the first version.

Excellent work, the graphics are beautiful, especially.

I agree with nsw25; a run and attack move will be useful, otherwise you can basically attack in one way only.

just make one block for one letter M for example (its one of the widest letters) then paste it 15 times down and tthen take this row and paste 15 times to the right (rights next to what you had)
BAsically you need 16x16 clones of your box where your letter will be and it needs to fit in it.

Death animations are great :) i laughed when i saw them, i think youre heading in the right direction.
Combat is now bit more dynamic and i would go this way even more, make his run faster ,
I can point out some things that require check  like coins offset makes them a bit lifted off the ground, also hand that takes you to next stage - i would make its hitbox bigger so its easier to touch it.
I would block the cell at the beginning with platform obstacle bars so player cant escape walking between bars.
Im sure you are aware of these thing sand theyll get polished in time, great work and new animations really add to the value making the world you create more believable  :)

It's great already, the definitive version will be a masterpiece.

I wonder if there is a way to deactivate a passage until all the enemies have been defeated (via a script, I assume).
Otherwise you can escape in the middle of a battle, and it is not very heroic.
For example, when you have to fight with two archers and there is a ladder leading up, to escape the arrows, sometimes, you end up taking the ladder by mistake.
If this is not possible, I would prefer to introduce, at the end of the fight, an intermission screen to decide the route; as it happens, for example, in Final Fight Gold.

I do not like enemies stealing food and potions, really.

Finally, a bug I found: the female villager (Froukignette) can hurt Gudule if he gets too close, even if she is already dead.

As always, every version is even more surprising.
I played a few games, but I was not able to find the sorcerer or even the zombies. Did I miss some secret passage?
Also, I'm wondering if there's a way to limit the number of hens the chick-guy can pull out. I think that six or seven is the most suitable maximum number.
There are some enemies in some creations by Andrew Thatcher, such as Evil Dead or Simpson Treehouse of Horror, that make other enemies appear, but less frequently; I do not know if the scripts used for those enemies are publicly available, the only thing to do is to ask.
