The project is currently under development.
So I just thought I'd throw this out there: FF All The Bravest is indeed being ripped, so "ClaFan Advanced" might be a reality sooner than you'd think. The problem is...

... it still isn't enough for me to replace all the characters. Plus, what would I do with world map sprites? In the end it's currently just more trouble than it's worth, and--for now--I'm better off staying 8-bit.
 
Well Nick, do you want to update ClaFan or make new mod?
If it is the former ,yes it might not be enough but for the latter, what's stopping you? you can just have new rule. You can replace world map sprite with hand or pointer. I know that's not FF'ish but it's best solution ATM
 
That's the thing: I don't even have enough to update ClaFan.

Aside from world map sprites, these are the frames that comprise every character. That sheet I posted is missing two, three, sometimes even four of those frames. The only ones that come closest are the Thief, Dragoon, and Dwarf. Maybe I can just abandon the idea of using All The Bravest and just use FF4-5, but then I lose the world map sprites again--which is what makes it look a lot like an RPG. IMO, using just a hand cursor kills the feel and charm of it, especially since I made interactive NPCs and everything.

 
Hi Guys! Im a new guy here, I registered here because I feel this mod would be abandoned pls dont stop this project.. Im having a hard time here in the hospital and this game was so cool.. pls dont stop ok? if you want you can add different kind of characters... just suggesting it  ;D

Just wanted to say how much I love this game! It is a very unique game and a lot of fun. I also wanted to thank you for posting your code for air combos in another thread, it helped me to get started with air combos in my DBZ mod!

Thanks for your comments shanot and Shaybe. I really appreciate it.  :)

I'm planning on adding a second mid-combo chain for all the playable characters. While I believe that they play fine right now, adding a little extra depth would make the game better. Characters like Fighter and Valkyrie do fine with the current setup, but White Mage and a few others could really use the buff.

I'll let you guys know where that goes.
 
After playing the game a little bit more there is one suggestion that comes to mind. Maybe add in some palette swaps of the enemies? In some stages it just feels like I'm fighting 50 of the same enemy.
Any other characters planned for the future? Might I suggest....

A bunch of enemies already have palette swaps, but I can't see any harm in making more.  :)

Other characters are planned. Cloud is probably not one of them. But we'll see.  ;)

I used to have a sprite sheet of 100% custom and sexy looking NES FF7 character sprites. It was from a japanese website that was doing an 8-bit demake. Unfortunately the sheet was on my old laptop and it's currently dead; if you can find that exact same sheet, I'll think about it.

The Amazon!

She's a fierce gal that loves to smash monsters with her broad sword. She has huge power--70 damage in two hits; versus Fighter's 60 damage after five hits! But, Amazon is slow as balls, and her attacks have startup lag. But if you can exploit her reach and maintain a safe distance, then the Amazon is a perfect choice for some heavy hittin' butt kickin'.

Coming soon, to a ClaFan near you.  ;)
 
Looks pretty cool, and sounds like she matches my playstyle perfect.

It's kind of shoehorned in with his mid-combo and aerial Chain attack. I suppose I could make an extra chargeattack version, though.

I really like the newest version! I found one of the hidden stages and I must say it was a bit tough. Will you be adding an arena type mode to this mod?
 
Never made an arena mode before. I'll look into the arena mode in nsw's Simpsons mod when I get a chance; I only played the main mode in that one.

I kind of forgot to mention... you may have noticed that Hero is no longer on the character select menu. He's not entirely disabled; you unlock him by completing one of the hidden stages. After beating the stage, go to a town, and you can then pick him.
