Does anyone have any recommendations on a good joystick and controller for the pc.  I’m  tired of always using the keyboard. I would like to hear your recommendations.

Gracias por el consejo.
Thanks for the advice.

My first choice is the N64 controller
Buy an original, and use this adapter:
https://www.raphnet-tech.com/products/dual_n64_to_usb_adapter/index.php

it works well with about 60 percent off all games i know (snes , genesis , N64, some gamecube & wii games, PS2 - arcade)

it has the best D-pad ever made, the 7 most durable digital buttons i have ever used so far, & the best analog (when in good condition)

cons- only one analog- no LR analog bumpers, rumble support limited to the rumble pack

Second choice is the Sabrent 12 button controller

https://www.sabrent.com/product/USB-GAMEPAD/twelve-button-usb-2-0-game-controller-pc/

if you have a multi system laptop, 4 of these ensure that no 4 player game goes un-played, Some n64 titles will suffer because the analogs don't have the accuracy tho, but they are still playable.

Another issue, they have to be reinforced,  the carbons cleaned & the metal contacts a bit sanded, once done they are pretty reliable.
They feature Rumble support with the driver.
Pros
the Price.
The 6 button layout is great for fighting games, & most N64 titles
Cons - not that reliable out of the box,  lack of analog L R bumpers (like the 360's) and those turbo and mode buttons should have been just more buttons. The d-pad should have been designed more like the N64's, i never liked Playstation's design for D-pads

In third is this one:
https://www.cnet.com/products/hori-horipad-ex2-turbo-gamepad-wired/
but the price is out of my reach (& it is not available anymore  - i think)

4th place is the Xbox one controller
5th the 360's (it has some weird problem with the bumpers by default, but it is fixed using the japanese hack driver or use x360ce in the game directorie's path)

4 & 5's Cons - really awful for 6 button fighting games, D-pads are not that good
