hahaha yes, a little humor is not too much.

Hehe, I didn't know you thought that about the village, lol. how funny.

I'm missing a few little things and that town would be ready.

To then continue adding more things; D.

That was before when I said about the village. I don't think it's like inside the house anymore. I always understand it's actually a village there since I know it's RPG system. Did you know Bloodbane made the village system in Rise of Warduke mod?

Yes, and it's super cool .

I plan to see what I add more to, I still have to add the store, and other sites.

Master, the selection is made with the entity's attack of the selection arrow. I have to improve some aspects of the npc selection screen (hehe it's still beta but functional)
How about you go back to any NPC you choose to unselect if you select by mistake?

Yes, simply by resetting the registry values of the equipment but I would have to modify some things so that no bug would occur :D

Blade Master and I chatted about this issue yesterday. He tried testing it and it seems to work for him. You're not the only one. I received that archive being detected as corrupt or virus too in Microsoft Edge (which I'm currently using). I restarted my computer so that I could go back to download. Then I tried Google Chrome to test its download progress, but I received it as "dangerous" probably after downloading it or it went incomplete. I went back to Edge to download it again. I just had to keep an eye on its progress before it finished. I almost finished downloading, so I had to redownload it. Had to keep an eye on it again to check its progress or else it wouldn't finish completely. It's gonna take a while until you get it downloaded completely.

Here are the attachments that I wanted to show @Blade Master, but I couldn't because I don't know how to attach files in the chatroom. Or maybe there's no attachment option from computer to chatroom. I should've reported these here first. This is what happened to me before I downloaded it successfully.

Blade Master, do you mind you check the issue with the files so people don't have to restart their computers for downloading it?

Very good guys, I already verified the problem, it also happened to me when I downloaded it with firefox and edge. I already re-uploaded the pak without the .exe. Since it somehow became corrupt when uploading it. When I try to extract it when I download it, Windows Defender blocks the files, (which is strange because it is the same copy of the one I use to program).

Well thanks for helping me solve this problem @NickyP and @maxman I'm uploading the pak again without the exe and post a direct link to the openbor that I use (the original that has no problems) :D

Well thanks for everything :)

I tried your mod. I like it. Let me give some critiques but I might have some nitpicks I can point out.

  1. I like that you have the Rest option between the options of Edit Party and Return. You have nice options to choose in the inn.
  2. This version is a better improvement than the previous one which was too difficult for me to fight against the hordes of enemies. Couldn't escape the battlefield too before. Sometimes I could, sometimes I could not.
  3. I like the level environment where enemies spawn at according to where you are in a certain location. For example, when you're near home village and the castle, you fight enemies where the castle is.
  4. Yi Long cannot move after shooting in battle. I didn't know how to escape after shooting until I figured out by pressing the block button. You press shoot buttons and press block to freely move anywhere. Also, you keep shooting until you run out of ammos. But the good thing is it is going to reload your ammos in the next battle. You manage to free yourself after pressing the block button.
  5. Sometimes it's possible to perform attack in the village area where you're not supposed to do.
  6. After you die from battle, you can move on in overhead mode, but when you go back to the village, you're already dead so it's impossible to go back to the inn or anywhere. Same when it comes to 2 players or more. You can go around in overhead mode depending on the NPCs' survival.
  7. In the NPC select mode, you have the second player standing on the top left, but only you can choose any ally. Sometimes, the second player's name appears in the second slot. Sometimes it's not in there.
  8. The second player joins you all 4 for battle after player and NPC select screens. This makes it 5 as in 2 players and 3 NPCs in action.
  9. I know the battle menu system is not finished yet, but I think you need to check the items such as potion, high potion, and so forth, since they show the number of items they have like 99. But when you try using any of them, the beep sounds like it can't be used or it's out of items.
  10. You have a very nice touch on the specific characters who to appear. For example, when you choose Carl to go to the inn, you don't see him because you use him until the second player joins. Either P1 or P2 chooses Carl and you see an NPC Carl there, but it's not a big issue there. It's just small I guess.
  11. Tales of series has an element of the battle system based on 2D Beat Em Ups such as Kung Fu, Bad Dudes, Flying Dragon, and so forth, while yours is based on a 2.5 Beat Em Up system like Double Dragon, Final Fight, Rushing Beat, Renegade, etc. That's a very nice idea. ;)
  12. The Edit Party mode from the inn is a nice touch for selecting NPC if you feel like you've changed your mind who to choose.
  13. After picking a potion for Carl to use for his HP, I can't move anywhere until I win or get hit.
  14. Lyca is very good use for long-range attacks. However, I get lost in how to make special moves for her other than just attacking them with shooting arrows.
  15. The dialogue box needs to cover the dust from which every player runs.
  16. You don't see player 2's name in the in-game screen where the NPC and P1 names are.

All I can say is that you did a very excellent job in putting your effort for the RPG-like system. Despite much errors exist, it's pretty good. Keep up the good work. Looking forward to see more. :)

If I still have many things to fix and add.

I will also add a skill guide for the characters :D

I must also thank you for discovering those second player bugs. I hadn't had a chance to try them in the new update because my sister has a lot of homework and I don't see her around the house much.

Well I'll keep improving my game, thanks for your support @maxman :D

Haven’t downloaded but I love the game system totally!!
That character select screen with the little guys rotating when you choose them… very cute!!

Strangely enough, the archive still shows up as corrupted when downloading using Google Chrome. I had to download it on my phone and transfer it to my PC. In any case, I finally played the game, and I have to say....

.... I absolutely  love this project. It is everything I wish ClaFan could have been. I didn't know the engine could do all of this, and I sincerely hope this project is finished.

My thoughts in no particular order:

Though the art obviously isn't professional quality, it's still quite charming. Very impressed that you basically did it all by yourself; there's a lot of hard work and effort here, and it shows.

Music selection is nice. I really like the inn theme in particular.

Speaking of the inn, having your NPC party members hang out was a fantastic touch. Even more impressive is that not only can you sleep there (with gold being spent!), you can edit your party members too. Excellent game design in this regard--though an ideal method would be a menu to swap out members Tales Of style, this works too.

The battles can use a little bit of polishing up, and I want to emphasize: just a little. Two small changes would a make a big difference.

First, have some sort of pause before the fighting begins. Give the player a second to realize what they're up against, and where the enemies are positioned. This can be remedied with a short animation... something like, "Ready? (delay 30-50) Fight!"

Second, space the enemies out at the start of the fight. In random battles, my character got hit immediately because they spawned directly in front of a monster. Make it so that all players/npcs are in the left corner, and all enemies in the right. Let the heroes charge into battle. Not only does it look cooler, but like I said before, it gives the player a second to collect themselves before the fight.

In towns, I would remove the walking animation altogether, and just make it so that you only run. The walk speed is pretty slow, and players will want to explore at a swift pace so that they can return to the combat.

Also in towns, make it so that npcs can be talked to again without exiting. It's easy to miss their dialog.

The character variety is excellent, and everyone plays very differently. This carries onto their AI behavior.

I noticed random battles only work in the desert area. I can't wait for the rest of the world map to get updated!

These are just my hot takes for right now, I still want to play and experiment more. But I'll say this much: you might have called me Master NickyP, but I assure you, this project has the potential to surpass anything I've ever made in this community. Well done, @Blade Master. I truly look forward to more!

I'm sorry for the delay.

I just ded read everything you wrote and thank you. I am giving my best every day, right now I am eliminating bugs and random errors, and implementing new functions, codes, etc.

But yes, thanks for commenting and helping me improve my game @NickyP, I will consider some improvements you said :D

Haha I don't think so

Hello hello Chronocrash adventurers!

Today I bring some small videos to show you some improvements to my game that I have made these days:

1. I have put a custom title screen.

2. I have made small improvements to the levels.

3. I introduced Melta before I got the legendary sword. (This is the one you should start with.)

4. Add an enemy and a new battle zone.

5. Show some parts of the beginning of the story.

6. Improve various functions, and redid the code of the dialogs.

This is a really great project you're doing, You can see a lot of hard work has gone into it, well done (y)
