Hey everyone.

"Chroma Squad" has been released today (on Steam).

This is not a beat-em-up, but seeing how so many Power Rangers (and other 80s and 90s shows) projects are getting OpenBor mods these days, it may interest a few people here.

It's from the same Brazilian studio that created the excellent "Knights of Pen and Paper".

It's a tactical RPG where you hire a team of ACTORS for your studio in order to make a TV show like PowerRangers and such. Each "battle" is a sort of episode, full with teamwork super weapons and giant mecha robots.

It looks super fun! :D

Looks like a cool little game, wonder how they got away with it thou.

Somehow I don't think we'd get away with doing the same with TMNT and calling it 'Reptile Warriors' ::)

I get where you're coming from, but I don't think it's the same thing...

They are taking inspiration from those japanese shows ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_Sentai ) which inspired Power Rangers (were they ever japanese?). We had A LOT of those shows in Brazil (Changeman, Flashman, GoggleFive etc). They all look exactly the same... but weren't. :P
 
Yeah I know I'm just joking xD.  It's just interesting that they managed to do this commercially.  Could be hope for more fangames/tributes like this in the future.
