copyright question

Got a quick question if anyone knows.  Can you get in trouble for copyright content in a mod if the company has closed down ?

I don't know if it would be that cut and dry.  I guessing it would all depend on if someone personally owns the copyright or if the source material was bought up and owned by another company.

De Jure: By letter of the law, there is no such thing as "abandonware" -  a copyright is a copyright. It's always in force, and you most certainly can get in hot water for violating it.

De Facto: If there is no holding entity to enforce the copyright, then in reality you aren't going to get in trouble.

thats what i thought someone would have to push the order forward and it should be the company who have been violated not saying im going to rip anyone off just a passing thought thanks DC

I do often wonder what it would take to gain the rights to rushing beat, that game needs a remake like no one's business!
