Check out this great opensource program, DarkFunction Editor.

http://darkfunction.com/editor/

I've been using it to pack sprites intro sheets and quickly make palettes.  It's handy if you're working with lots of loose sprites

nice. Stitch Studio can make sheet too, and for to make palettes, you can use Fighter Factory too http://www.chronocrash.com/forum/index.php?topic=60.0

I will take a look on this

This wont make a palette, but i use the sheets to make one in photoshop.  Thou it's not any good with chars that have too many sprites for one image, I might try fighter factory, thanks, I diddn't think of it.

Been updating an old mod of mine that was still using global palette, so this has saved some time.

Also once you have a master palette the easiest way to process the sprites and add the new palette is using Plombo's PalApply - http://www.chronocrash.com/forum/index.php?action=tpmod;dl=item11

Plombo s PalApply was great, but for some reason it stopped working for me years ago. I dont have photoshop so I ll try Fighter, thanks!

That's strange, maybe grab a new copy.  You might need to update something in windows.... do some windows updates, update things like java and .net too.  Just a guess - hopefully Plombo can answer.
