Games crashing

There are a few OpenBOR games that when loading the next level, the program just suddenly closes itself. I notice it usually happens with older games but is there a way to fix this?
 
Hi lesserdemon, it seems that something is not correctly set at this next stage. Can you take a look at log/Openbor log. txt and send here a copy?

Yes, there is no error recorded here, that's maybye because you didn't copy the log after game shut down or any other reason.
Could you tell me which game is and in what stage this crash appears? Do you play it on PC or other platform?
 
It's just called Battletoads, no subtitle or anything. Here's the level:

Right after you beat the last wave of enemies and it fades to a loading screen, the program just closes itself. Reloading the save brings me to the start of this level again.

also I checked the log again to see if anything changed and I don't think this was here before. It was on the very bottom.

So you got your answer :). Change in chars/misc folder the image by SN3.gif (without a second f letter) and test ;).
 
Well... I checked the link where I got it from and it seems the file got deleted. I searched for another one and got one from a youtube vid showing the game and... this one had the problem fixed. Lucky me huh? Thanks for helping though c:

I'm curious if I can solve a problem like this myself it it happens in another game. Is there a program I have to download to change something the pak file? Or does it involve a lot of complicated coding?
 
No, you can paxplode the pak file, fix the error noted at the Openbor log and repack the game.
It's better to ask the author about the problem you have encountered first when it's possible.
