Hey guys,

I just wanted to share with you that I recently got the Japanese version of Fighting Force. It's called 'Metal Fist' in Japan.
With this, I feel like I have completed my collection regarding Fighting Force. I'm really proud of this collection, if I may say so myself.

Let me show you:

What an awesome collection MadGear!! The first Fighting Force was really good and the second one was ok but not as good the first one. I play both the Nintendo 64 and Playstation versions back in the day.

Thanks for the compliments ;D

Yeah, I have mixed feelings about Fighting Force 2. I really do like the game as it is more than just a beat 'em up. I like the gameplay. But I don't like that you only have 1 character to play as. If Hawk is your favorite character in part 1, then you got lucky with part 2 because he's the only playable character in that game. But Hawk isn't my favorite. Mace is. So I was very disappointed when I found out that she, along with Smasher and Alana, were nowhere to be found in part 2.

Anyway, back to the collection.
For those of you who live in the United States, you might not recognize the front covers because these are the PAL (European) versions of the games. Tracking down the games wasn't really hard as most of them I got on their release dates. The Japanese version and the Nintendo 64 version, however, were hard to track down and I just recently got them. I had to import the Prima's official strategy guide because I couldn't find it anywhere in the Netherlands. The same goes for the action figures and the Japanese version of part 1. Had to import those as well. The cardboard at the top-right corner is just the backside of the action figures' packaging. And the two pictures in the frames were custom-made by me.

Anyway, I'm really glad about this collection ;D

Congrats on owning this collection.

Hawk was OP in the first game. He had a grab infinite if timed right. Mace might've had one too. & you could perform her defense special on grounded opponents because her's came out the fastest. But Smasher's defense special was unrivaled. I'm glad they decided to make Vulkan unplayable because he would definitely break the game with his moveset given. I loved fighting force 2(yes, biased Hawk fan)

Impressive,
I have to admit I have something for this game as well. I play it at least every year.
I regret the psx version is not perfectly emulated, I mean with music and all...

I have pc version, but I would like to play Metal fist on emulation.

Also, it's a shame FF2 is not a beat em up and cannot allow to play 4 characters

Also, about prima guide.
Is there some not obvious content on it ?
I think most of the informations were in the game notice.
Some hiddent stuffs? moves?

As far as I'm concerned, the Prima guide is actually absolutely unnecessary. I mean, the game is a beat 'em up. It doesn't require a guide in my opinion. Anyway, the guide has the following content:

- It explains the story of the game
- It shows the characters' biographies and their reasons for going after Dr. Zeng
- Complete move-list for each of the playable characters
- Walkthrough for all stages (hidden weapons, which enemies to deal with first, etc.)
- Strategies for the boss fights
- Reveals the secret exits of the stages so you can get a weapon when you start the next stage
- Reveals the only cheat code of the game (a big fail on their part for not showing the correct code)

So yeah, it's a nice guide to have as a collector's item. But in general, it's pretty much useless.

OK!
So nothing that is not on gamefaqs or similar websites...

But for the nostalgic way, it's a gem!

Fighting Force.. great game. I wish they made more games like that for PSX.
FF2 was kinda different, but it also had a very innovating gameplay, a real jump from its predecessor (especially about aiming, weapons and the graphics).
Good collection

You are the biggest fan of this two game franchise I've ever seen. I have not seen many super fans since the PS1 days. Congrats on the merch and multiple copies.

Too bad they decided to not let this be the SOR4, back on the day.
Worked for better, and it makes considering how average the game is overall. Though the Japanese version is a bit more polished and better making the game a B-. Plus, we ended getting Dynamite Cop and Spike Out. Those are better any way.

@MadGear or anyone else interested...

So Fighting Force Collection came out two days ago. Too bad I already played the game a few months ago, and it's easier and superior Japanese counterpart, Metal Fist. It's the USA PS1 versions of both games. You can use save states at any time to make up for the lack of lives/continues. I do wish this collection at least came with the Japanese version and the N64 version. More so the former, because it's more than likely they couldn't get either due to time or licensing issues. The collection is $19.99.
