Sorry in advance if this isnt the right place for this, but I was wondering if OpenBor had a resolution limit?
could I make sprites similar to SOR4?
Also can you make BOR work in a browser?

thanks for your time

Welcome to the community @MindChamber!

but I was wondering if OpenBor had a resolution limit?

No. The maximum preset mode is 960×540, but you can dial in whatever resolution you feel like.

Also can you make BOR work in a browser?

Also no. There are some unofficial OpenBOR powered games running in embedded browser windows, but we don't support them.

@MindChamber

Just realized I missed part something there. It should be self evident, but just in case...

Yep. Aside from resolution, every on screen entity in OpenBOR has its own 8bit color palette (255+ transparent), and you can swap those at any time from an unlimited number of palette choices. SoR4 style sprites are easy money, assuming you have the production chops to make them.

Thats great. There are a few Brawlers I helped make in Flash from back in the day that I'd like to upgrade and BOR feels like the perfect engine to do it with, my style is more cartoonish than SOR but I want these remakes to have that level of detail, without it looking too much like pixel art.

That is some really nice sprite work!

Bravo for this splendid work on Flash in terms of beat em up. Openbor is the perfect support for developing this type of game and more. I'll be excited to see what you have to offer in the coming times :)

Thanks a bunch, I'm a really slow learner, but I get there eventually :D

ok another question, I did some searching and didn't see anything on the subject.
does OpenBOR accept texture atlas sprite sheets? to be able to add customization or, dynamic visual enemy damage

No. it uses separated image files.

Doable? yes. Easy to do? Depends on how you want to do it.
It could be very easy if you use an alternate model (what we call "weapon).
thanks for the heads up. I was curious if BOR could do something similar to 'Cosmic Carnage' where each piece of armor could be removed from hits.
