several characters not working

I have been playing Mugen....I have downloaded several fighters but only about half are showing up and I name the all exactly as the .def files does.....could it be the version I am using I noticed some were made for 1.0 and I think I have a newer version?

If you must see which version and for which version they are made friends, when I was younger and played with my sister the mugen had that error. I am not very good with Mugen, the best thing I would recommend is to open the def files and manually change the version of the character to the version you use
