Head swap

Does anyone know how to swap heads of sprites? I've tried with Fighters Factory Studio and as far as I can get is changing palettes or minor adjustments like Whip and Kula wearing balaclavas.

You don't. Not like you're apparently thinking anyway. That's something old school consoles did using tile based graphics, but modern engines like OpenBOR and Mugen don't use tile graphics. To make a headswap, you have to create a new sprite set or script some very advanced binding.

The binding is not something you can do at your current skill level. As for making the alternate sprites, there's no magic trick. You copy + paste and then make manual adjustments. Along the way you have to make sure the palette is set up correctly as well.

The amount of work needed to make a head swap (making sprites without the head, making the head separated and binding it to the body)is way more time consuming than just make new sprites with a new head.

in Mugen this would be a problem, but OpenBOR has a very useful tool for that: weapons (alternate models).
I would use this method to make those swaps (its what I did with the Putty on the MMPR game)

Sorry, where do I find this tool?

This is about how to make characters pick up weapons. I don't really use weapons in openbor games.
no buddy. Take a look at the manual, don't let the term fool you :)
I have to agree with DC here: this doesn't means to be something you can do at your current skill level.
