Just getting started with Raspberry Pi 2.
I downloaded the source from

https://github.com/rofl0r/openbor

In the instructions, it reads:

BUILD
=====
just run:

make

an executable of the name "OpenBOR" will be created.

1. I unzip the openbor-master.zip from GitHub into ~/Downloads/

2. I got to the new folder openbor-master and Open in Terminal

3. output:

Code:
pi@raspberrypi ~/Downloads/openbor-master $ make

What am I doing wrong? I have installed libsdl1.2-dev using synaptic. Do I need certain other libraries?

That edition of OpenBOR is not supported. It's an unauthorized, and unfinished branch started by a disgruntled former dev. Despite the author claims it also happens to be incompatible with most of the recent module catalog.

What you are looking for is here. That is the only "real" OpenBOR and the only one that is supported.

Thanks for the catch. Fixed.

Also, just to put it out there, I agree with most of his ideas and concepts. He clearly knows his stuff, at least on the technical side of things.

It's the complete disregard for end user preferences (I hate consoles too - but that's just where a large portion of our user base is, like it or not) and a serious general attitude problem that were untenable.
