Double Dragon Gaiden Input Issues.

I recently downloaded Double Dragon Gaiden, which is a great game all the way. But it seems to have an issue where certain inputs suddenly won't work with no rhyme, nor reason. Depending on who I use, I often can't use the hurricane kick (unless I'm carrying a weapon), the special attacks, and sometimes the stomp too. The game also seems to sometimes crash when I use the block button it seems. That and occasionally can't pick certain characters at some point(s) in the game for that matter either. Anyone else experience such issues with this game, and if there's any fixes, and/or what I need to do in order to be able to use the moves all the time. Thanks in advance for any possible help anybody on here can hopefully offer. :)

The inputs still seem to have trouble with working with it too.
I'm sure this is a driver issue, I've been having similar problems recently with older mods that are spk. like golden axe myth and nightslashers x so I know it's not the games themselves because the spk. files haven't been edited in any way.

Well I was able to give it a try, now that I knew what to do with the screen size thing. As an added bonus, I was also able to solve a similar problem with another OpenBor title I recently downloaded, which was Golden Axe: The Curse Of Death Adder 3.0 with this knowledge too, and can now play that game in full screen also! The GOOD news is that the issue with the game crashing up when the clones blocked my frontal attacks on Stage 13 is now okay, when I did that stage on test mode. That and was nice I could skip the cutscenes for that matter also. The problem with the inputs was still the same, as three of them (the hurricane kick, special attacks, and the stomp) will randomly not work with certain characters, and have to keep shutting down, than restarting the game, until I'm satisfied with which ones I can use. But I assume I'll still be able to use hurricane kick whenever I'm holding a weapon of any kind like I did before, which is at least better than nothing, regardless of whether a character can use it by default or not. This is literally the only such OpenBor game I've ever had this annoying thing happen with as well. I'll try to do a full playthrough when I have time, and go from there, and will need to beat New Game, in order to unlock Revenge Mode, which I didn't have to do beforehand. Will that also be permanently saved when I have it as well?

For my part @thewildace i think it is normal to not use a special move, like an uppercut if you have a weapon, like a row, in your hands. Like in real life. You must make a choice, using the weapon, or not and use your special moves.
For me the last real bug of this game is that ennemies with weapon are never let it down, we must kill them, and same, ennemies never take a weapon on the ground. But it's the game design, the enemies are not designed to do that and it will be a pain to fix.

Now the game working really like a charm ... thanks :)

Well it DOES add a bit of strategy to it, since I'd usually ignore the weapons in that game (save for the bo staff, along with the nunchucks to a lesser extent), but need them for the hurricane kick if it doesn't work by default. But the game's special moves are obviously very useful, and is a shame when I can't use them with at least some of the characters. That and there DO exist versions where all of the inputs work all the way, and just don't understand why that's the case with this particular one? But at least one problem was solved, and will see what, if anything anyone can hopefully take from here though. Good thing I won't need to use just the stomp attacks for the clone enemies from now on, which will be a big help at the very least from now on. :)

And I did a full playthrough on new game just now. Revenge Mode is thankfully saved afterwards like before, so that's fine, along with at least being able to do hurricane kicks when you're holding a weapon. Not certain if it was a coincidence or not, but I did SEEM to have a bit more of luck with the inputs working better. Still isn't perfect by any means, but is nice I had a higher success rate with them than with the old version that I played of this game up until now. So it's at least mostly good, and I'll try to play Revenge Mode first, to make sure it's all well also. Glad we're getting somewhere, and hope there is still one last solution up our sleeves for the final issue at some point also. :)

It also seems like I have a slightly better success rate with the broken inputs in this partially fixed, even if it's still puzzling as to why some will, and won't work at random when I start up the game? Still hoping this can be fixed someway, somehow soon, which I figured should be easy enough to figure out too.

So did anyone here ever figure out a fix for this, and know what exactly I'm talking about too? I was recently able to play the game with all of the inputs working, but once again couldn't use them all when I exited, and tried playing it again. Just need this one issue fixed, which someone, anyone here can surely easily do too?
