dummy branch ?

I trying to use this  dummy branch like nikyp explained in his tutorial, but something is wrong...its not working to me.
My question is, the  dummy branch  is a fake entity or i need to set it all?

#--------------------------------------------------------# BEGINNING
branch  00_00
z 145 210 160
file  data/levels/test.txt
#--------------------------------------------------------# BEGINNING

Is 00_00  a entity declareted as a well?
Is the test.txt a real txt file that i have to create?

Just copy and past this lines in the beginning  and in the end...didnt work...the engine crashes.

Btw... i need to do a room that player can get in and out how many time he wants...

I don't understand why you'd need dummy branch. Branch is ignorable at all if not used to jump to

Btw... i need to do a room that player can get in and out how many time he wants...

The key to making that is the level outside that room. As long that level has access to that room, you can enter the room as often as you want
IOW you need to design the room and the outside level properly so player can jump from one to the other and vice versa

Well, i was thinking i would need make a endless loop like in  NickyP's tutorial about world map and stage select, btw...what i realy need is understand how to setup  someting like this: A top down stage ...there is only a house , the player whan touch the door get in the house, once he is inside if touch the door he will go back to the stage ...i need to it ..but the player can get in or out of the house how many times he wants.

I heve reading some tutorials about branch, i make it works, but with some problems, i did the char get in the house and get out the house but its looks to have a limited times to do that...doesnt look like a loop... so it go to level clear screen.

Im confused... ???

Ah I see, I could tell you how to do it with texts but I believe it would be easier with a demo. Give me time to update map demo for it :)

BTW about going to level clear screen, that's because OpenBoR by default ends the game if last level on the level list is ended (in any way). To prevent that, a dummy level (not branch) is set at the end of level list to trick engine to treat any level as not-last-level on the list

set Map
typemp 0
custfade 100
musicoverlap 0
lives 99
credits 1
noshare 0
cansave 2
continuescore 2
z 140 210 140
file data/levels/begin.txt
branch Map
z 20 600 20
file data/levels/map.txt
branch F1
z 140 210 140
file data/levels/forest1.txt
branch F2
file data/levels/forest2.txt
branch F3
file data/levels/forest3.txt
branch G1
z 120 210 120
file data/levels/gunung1.txt
branch R1
z 160 210 160
file data/levels/room1.txt
z 20 600 20
file data/levels/map.txt # dummy level

In this example, map.txt is set as dummy level. That level is dummy cause all levels excluding map.txt goes to branch Map when they are completed. IOW completing room1.txt will bring player to map.txt declared right after begin instead of the last one
You can declare other level as dummy level if you'd like :)

[couple hours later]

Alright kdo, I've updated this Map demo which you can get here:

http://www.mediafire.com/download/dha58iqd91d0983/Map5.5.rar

in this demo, after you enter world map, you can enter Tavern 1 and return to map as many as you want ;)

Thanks man!!! You are my hero :) now i'll try to understand how its works, thanks for all your atention, help and patience with me Bloodbane...thanks..
