Help with pak extraction

Sorry to start a new thread over a simple question, but I have scoured for hours and found no answer. Does anyone know how to extract a pak file from an OpenBor mod that was converted to a Dreamcast game? I found some pretty good looking mods I want to try, but the contents don't contain any pak files.
Is there a way to convert it back somehow so that the pak file can be recovered?

Example:

Since a GD-ROM is a GD-ROM regardless what's on it, I'd say this is a better question for the folks in one of the Dreamcast forums. IIRC there may have been an app that could do this for you, but I'm just not sure. They'd know much better than I do.

That said, the module you want is probably available in its original form somewhere - there are several little known OpenBOR warehouses that have almost all of the old catalog. That would probably be the better route to go. Doubly so for any of the later modules that got more ambitious since several of them had to get compressed quite a bit to play on the Dreamcast.

Thanks DC, I appreciate your response. I'll see if I can get some help on one of the DC forums like you suggested, that is a good idea. As far as BOR, the only other site I'm familiar with other than this one is CoC, but I'll try to track down some more of the types you referenced that have many of the old catalog. That particular game that I posted the screenshot for was "Fighting Street - One" which I found on GameJolt posted by Ripfire, and is the only place I can find any info at all about it. It's an edit of the original Fighting Street, just with a whole lot more characters. I'll figure it out eventually though, since I can't find the actual pak file, and I'm pretty sure it's a newer project.
I have 2 more questions that hopefully someone can help me with, both relating to Android Openbor.
First, if you go to load a game, and it stops loading half way through the loading screen, and goes back to the Android home screen, is there a log somewhere that might say what is causing it to fail halfway through? Probably an obvious and dumb question, I just don't know what I'm looking for.
Also, I'm trying to play "Fighting Street - Hack Boss" which runs great on PC, but when I run it on Android, the characters are unable to move. They will change their direction, but not actually go anywhere, and this does not happen on the PC. However, there are extra files contained in the game, but not in the form of a Data folder. See photo below. Is there a way to include these files to the Android directory if they are needed, or is this just one of those tough luck things?

No data folder, and not sure why there are 2 exe's and a pal.act file. I only placed the pak on my android

We're the only true active forum for OpenBOR - which is intentional since it's a small community and I'm currently the lead engine dev. Some authors have their own sites for specific projects, but this is the place to go for information and downloads.

What I meant by warehousing is that there are some file repositories members here have created filed with old modules.

There's your first problem - Ripfire. That guy has some genuine mental issues and was banned long ago. Among many other things, he likes to take other author's modules and make minor edits that are inevitably pointless and detrimental. Then he puts his name on them and blatantly takes credit as the original creator.

I'd never heard of a Fighting Street module, but I can promise you he didn't create any of it, and if we look around can probably find you the assuredly better original.

This I really can't help with. I'm the lead dev - but my work and expertise are engine related. I don't mess around with ports and know almost zilch about them.  Sorry. :(

Okay, that makes sense. This is pretty much the only site that shows up for the most part if you search for anything about OpenBOR, at least as far as being an active forum like you said.

I didn't know any of that about Ripfire, I only just saw the game on GameJolt and thought it seemed like a cool addition to a game I already enjoy. That's too bad he's not a good person, and tries to steal credit for other people's hard work. I'll be more cautious of him and his projects in the future. You should try the original Fighting Street mod though, as well as Hack Boss, both are really good mods.

That's okay, and thanks anyways. Also, thanks for all your work with the engine that you've done. I'm not on expert on OpenBor, but if you've been the lead dev, I wouldn't be able to enjoy most of these mods if it wasn't for you helping to make it possible.

@nsw25
If you are right about Ripfire only making minor edits or just converting it to DC, that's too bad. If you look at the project on Gamejolt, it appears to be an actual significant addition to the original game, at least as far as characters. If Ripfire is like how you guys say he is though, I'll be just fine with passing on this "project". I do have a DC though I could test it on if I really wanted, but hooking it up and burning it sounds like more work than it's worth.

Thanks again guys, I appreciate the help and info.

Thanks man, but I'm merely one of many. OpenBOR represents years of work by a lot of folks - I'm standing on the shoulders of giants. :)

You might want to give module building a try for yourself, and defiantly play some of the newer offerings around. Word Heroes Supreme Justice, Avengers, Rise of Warduke... these are just the start.

Very true, I know you are one of many, but my thanks to you remains the same, and also extends to all the others that have been involved as well. Thank you very much every one, I am very grateful for what you've all done.
I would definitely LOVE to create my own mods as well, and have like 47 pages of notebook paper of ideas, and basically entire games already thought of and wrote out, as well as personally resized and edited sprites for some of the games. I've recently started watching and reading tutorials, and everything else I can find, and it seems pretty confusing to be honest, but only because I've never learned how to code anything really. That said, I don't care, and I'm going to keep at it. Hopefully my passion will outweigh my ignorance. I also need to know the capabilities of OpenBOR and what it can, and can't do. For instance, is it possible with OpenBOR to write a script that would not allow any animation what-so-ever to play at any time, except for when the actual player is moving, or attacking? I know, that sounds extremely weird, but I have a vision and use for such a feature. If you've ever seen the games Superhot or Ronin, it will make sense.
About original topic, I posted my question on DCemu, and funny enough, they responded with the same info about Ripfire that you did, and said to not waste my time, because it's most likely a crappy modified version of an actual creators legit good game. Yeah, they found the original mod for me, and Ripfire's was exactly that lol. Thanks again to you and to them, lesson definitely learned.

(Sorry, I always write too much. I'm working on it)
