How do I go about using OBOR Properly?

I am sorry and I know this must be asked many times. But I never really had any experience making games on OBOR. I have made many games using mugen but I would love to make a side scrolling beat em up game. To tell the truth I would like to know anything about making games on OBOR. Any information is appreciated.  :D
