I Have problems with charcter palettes

Hello everyone! 

I'm new to the OpenBOR, I know how to do things there, but I have a problem.

My Sprite character, becomes too black and too dark colors.
I have no idea of pallets for the characters.

pallets can be only for a character or all they have to share the palette?

Here is a picture of my problem

if they could explain, would appreciate it  ;D
